Re: v6.42.7 [current] is released!

lhg 60 have a fixed rssi now, its not changing anymore. that's ok for already mounted aligned links, but it will make mounting new links more complicated. its obviously only measured once shortly after connecting. the fluktuations are 6.42.6, the line is 6.42.7. the single movement was a reconnect. ...

Nstreme improvments wanted

Hi, I'am a wisp in Austria, running the network with 100% Mikrotik Clients & APs, around 50 Terabyte per month transported. I have Wisps since 2000 ... It's a very noisy environment here, we're using 100% nstreme protocol for all sectors as this gives us the best results. It would be pleasent to see...

60 GHz minimum RSSI for MCS 0 / staying online

Hi, I'd be interested what is the weakest signal that will keep a Mikrotik 60 GHz link online with the lowest modulation and actual firmware. My weakest link is a WAP60 to a LHG60, lenght 763 Meter, RSSI around -69 db. Its planed to possibly have a PTMP scenario later on. ITU Climate Zone H or K (vi...

I still run the whole ISP on nstreme, its faster here when you have a low count of clients each sektor (4-5 ...).

Re: v6.37rc [release candidate] is released, only one wireless package!

Are there any mikrotik DFS long time users around ? does the inband monitoring of radar sometimes dedect radars just cause of the damaged pakets a weak link is transmitting on mikrotik ? damaged pakets -> could be radar pulses -> radar dedected, even if not present back in 2003, 2004 exactly that wa...

Re: v6.37rc [release candidate] is released, only one wireless package!

Hi Mikrotik Gurus,

Is the radar scan active for all channels 100-140 (5500-5700), or just for 120-128 (5600-5640) ? What about channel 52 - 64 ?

will the dfs change also be in 6.36.1 ?

thanks maria !

Hi, after quite some productive communication with the mikrotik support I finally want to announce: Nstreme is now quite stable in noisy environments and works again for outdoor link. Since 6.33 (you need to use the wireless-cm2 paket) its lightning fast again, especially also for single tcp connect...

Feaure Request: Watchdog to watch multiple IP addresses

Hi, It would be fine if the hardware watchdog could check more than one ip adresses, only rebooting if all of them failed. If the checked device is down, the checking device is rebooting even if it doesnt have a problem itself via watchdog. checking more than one device would solve that. thanks, Maria

Hi,

I do need to set up an indoor WLan for mixed mobile clients. is there any trick to force 5 ghz capable clients to use the 5 ghz clound instead of the 2.4 ghz cloud ?

cisco & lancom systems offer such an option with their accesspoints

I'm not having any disconnect problems with nv2, just performance issues. Using nstreme instead solves the performance issuse, but give disconnect problems every few hours.

so I'm just wanting to know which firmware was before introducing the nstreme disconnect issues.

PtM Links - which firmware for nstreme

Hi, We're an WISP located in the capital city of Austria. Some sites have a quite congested frequency spectrum, at these sites ofthen NV2 works far worse to the nstreme protokol. Hi, does the RP filter "loose" setting check the default route or not ? if default route is present (which is nearly always the case at a router), rp filter would be practically disabled. hi, the two radio cards will usually interfere each other quite strong. take some tin foil from the kitchen, wrap it to 2 or 4 layers, put it into a platic bag (eg the antistatic bag the 433 was shipped in), and place that between the two radio cards. this works as a reasonably good protection again...

Re: Virtual AP and NV2

having seperate radios for each provider is the only way to do it for the moment, BUT free channels and space for antennas is not an endless resource.

especially in crowded areas its a huge difference to coorinate 3 oder 6 channels (out of 9, cause 3 cant be used cause of radar reservetion).
