Re: New to RouterOS; a few questions...

1-) You can do it with "simple queues" by filtering or blocking their internet connection by their ip address in schedule that you defined. 2-)I have no idea about vpn config so let another user answer this question 3-)Never tried :)) 4-)There are lots of qos example and explanation in wiki.mikrotik...

Re: How to block encrypted p2p.

it is called "ipoque" it is german company's product. it works as a bridge and can limit or block everything by subscriber. For example I have lots of people play world of warcraft and i prioritized wow packets, so they can play wow very well when the internet using is very high.

Re: How to block encrypted p2p.

We also bought a machine that can recognize and block or limit encrypted p2p traffic and it works perfect. it can also do lots of work but it is not relevant to this topic. it works between internet and mikrotik. My problem is solved.

How to block encrypted p2p.

I read the articles about p2p and they say you can limit or block all p2p connections but encrypted ones. there are 1200 people in my network and the bandwidth is not enough for all of them when some of them downloading files through torrent. I blocked rapidshare etc. and all-p2p but then they disco...

Re: Qos or setting piority for world of warcraft

I've found layer-7 regexp for wow. if I set piority 1 for that packets in firewall mangle, does it work? I am new at mikrotik and I know myself. I am a good learner with examples then explanations. Not starting with explanations. The language is also a problem for me because english is not my own la...

Re: How to Exclude Browsing From Bandwidth Limit?

You can use burst. for example your limit is 512k but burst limit is 4 mbit, when user connect to a web page, s/he can reach 4 mbit for 5 seconds then again 512k. it means opening web pages at 4mbit for first 5 seconds but downloading a file with 512k speed.

Re: Fight against P2P on port 80

Write "rapidshare" in content field in the filter rule that you created for rapidshare. it works for me. it block also web pages which has rapidshare links in it.

Re: MAC monitoring, MAC-ip rules intelligent creation.

I can see which user took which ip and I can also see their mac addresses but the ip they took is not static. They plugged the cable and they connect to lan with 192.168.x.x/17 ips but no internet. Then they use pppoe connection to connect to the internet. When they connect to internet with pppoe, t...

No, the ips are not static. Dhcp gives them reel ip who connected internet via pppoe from the ip pool that we buy from our isp.

Great Job!

Can we do it for pppoe users? I mean username-arp check instead of ip-arp.
