Re: Mikrotik-Address-List & Framed-IP-Address

I now have a theory. If the response comes from the radgroupreply table it adds it to the address-list. If it comes from the radreply table it doesn't. That doesn't seem to be correct behavior.

Mikrotik-Address-List & Framed-IP-Address

I have ROS 4.5 and FreeRadius. I have successfully used the Mikrotik-Address-List attribute with Framed-Pool to create a dynamic entry in the address list. I cannot seem to be able to use Mikrotik-Address-List & Framed-IP-Address to assign a static ip and create an entry in the address-list. Is this...

Re: CHALLENGE!! (Create a dynamic QOS that deprioritizes)

My thoughts on this was to use radius accounting to keep track of the bytes, php do do periodic bytecounts, then pop them into a different pcq if usage exceeded certain limits. It's not real time, but it would be close enough.

Re: Best way to transport SIP voice traffic

I have found that in simple situations the following is very helpful.
http://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/TransparentTrafficShaper
mark your sip traffic any way you want, by IP or port then give it all the bandwidth and highest priority.

Migrate from 750 to 750G

I have tried to migrate from a 750 to a 750G. Both are running ros 4.5. I made a backup, then copied the backup to the 750G, then restore. When I plug it in as a replacement, it doesn't work. Then when I log in I notice that there are slight differences. Ether1 has a different name than before, etc....

Re: DHCP Server and Radius Accounting

DHCP is Configuration Protocol. it's not about accounting. use TrafficFlow From what I can see, TrafficFlow is a layer 3. Radius Accounting is layer 2. It allows me to tie usage both quantity and timelines to mac not to ip. So if I understand TF correctly it would require the assignment of static i...

DHCP Server and Radius Accounting

Why doesn't the dhcp server support radius accounting?

pppoe - no mac auth
dhcp - no accounting
hotspot - complex firewall rules that break many things

Please just give us accounting with dhcp.

Re: Hotspot + Radius + Public Static IP's

When I have everything setup the way i think it should be, i keep getting the following in the log. trying to log in by mac logged out: host removed: authorized client needs your ip. logged in. this happens over an over again in rapid succession for every ip that has been whitelisted in ip-bindings.

Re: Dude on a large network

Does adding putting Agents in the middle of each subnet(or physical location) actually reduce traffic? Or does it aggregate the same amount of traffic, instead of x amount of traffic originating from 20 devices, is it 20x traffic from one device.

newbie help, 450 setup

Hi, I'm a relative newbie. I have several 750's, but just got a 450g. I assumed that gaining initial access would be the same, plug into port 2 and winbox to 192.168.88.1.
However, on the 450, when I plug into port 2, I get nothing. Ports 2-5 do not appear to be handing out dhcp. Is this normal?
