Re: Problem with PPPoE connections after upgrade to 6.42.1

We did not change anything in our switches, only upgrade routeros. As I wrote, setting MTU lower that 1480 helps, but another strange things happens. Packets count on interface pppoe grows to very high values. I collect data from: /interface print stats-detail And output looks like: 410 DR name="<pp...

Re: Problem with PPPoE connections after upgrade to 6.42.1

I found the problem - if on clients devices was set MTU > /interface pppoe-server server max-mtu, problem happens. But I don't know why this problem occurs - packets bigger than max-mtu should be splitted, because mrru it's set to the same value as max-mru, right? Mikrotik staff?

Re: Possibly infected routerboard?

If your device has no firewall, it could be used as a DNS relay, for anyone on the internet. It's possible - first client has a lot of traffic to DNS port on his routerboard. And nmap shows 53 port open on second device, and show all ports so I think there's no firewall. Maybe it's a good idea to d...

You can log SYN packets: /ip firewall filter add chain=forward action=log tcp-flags=syn protocol=tcp src-address=192.168.1.0/24 log=yes log-prefix="SYN-FORWARD" and send log to remote machine: /system logging set 1 action=remote where 1 it's a info level. In torch if I run with the Ip of the dns in src. address it displays the traffic.
I have no other firewall rules, just these ones.
How can I check if the adresses are returned from forward before detect-dos chain?
It's good idea to add log action in desired place.

Re: CCR1036-8G-2S+ - 100% cpu usage

Do you use IP's in queues? If so- try to use interfaces, not ip's. It is much easier for Mikrotik look only at interface of packets, not in EACH packet's header and IP's in it.
PPPOE create queues itself, with interface name as target for example <pppoe-login>. Please look at attachment.

Re: Short links, and no stability

Now, I have wds with nstreme. Links are stable, but now I have also much higer ping, about 100 - 150 ms. Maybe better card help? Now on ap I use R52 miniPci AR5414, they have only 16 dbm with 48 mbps. I want to try R52H miniPCI High Power (350 mW 19 dbm@54mbps), I hope they help.
