Re: No internet via non-main routing tables if missing default route on main [SOLVED]

/ip settings set rp-filter is generally unusable. it is too rigid and it cannot be monitored. there is a way to mark packets failing rpfilter in the mangle table in generic Linux but RouterOS lacks that possibility. with that marking it is at least possible to log and view packets that get dropped ...

Re: No internet via non-main routing tables if missing default route on main [SOLVED]

Ok, it's pretty clear what's going on now. Your routing works as expected. It is not your outgoing ICMP echo-request packets (pings) that are being mis-routed and/or discarded, but rather incoming ICMP echo-reply packets get rejected by your rp-filter . The rp-filter=loose works by checking if the ...

Re: No internet via non-main routing tables if missing default route on main [SOLVED]

Yes. Try to enable loose rp filter, and then disable and re-enable the route. It is guaranteed to produce the behavior I describe, even without PPPoE client. Maybe my understanding of rp-filter needs some more learning, but I still cannot understand why adding a bogus default gateway to main should ...

v6.46.5

In my case the route is via PPPoE-client. I don't know why I'm having intermittent troubles reproducing this issue but I definitely experienced it. I will try to produce a consistent result and advise. Thank you for your assistance so far I do appreciate it.

Re: No internet via non-main routing tables if missing default route on main [SOLVED]

Try to disable the default route on the non-main routing table, and re-enable it. The pings will not flow until you add a default gateway on main (which doesnt even need to be "routing" anywhere, it just needs to be a "black"(active) 0.0.0.0/0 route on main table). There is the problem. You can trig...

Re: No internet via non-main routing tables if missing default route on main [SOLVED]

You ve set Routing Marks, so there is no Main Routing Table... It is actually your mistake... Tell the Router to use the Table named "foo" and everything will work just fine... Yes I think this is it. Ok I will try to find a workaround as the solution is not immediately obvious to me (given that I ...

No internet via non-main routing tables if missing default route on main [SOLVED]

Hi all I've come across what seems to me to be a bug/issue, whereby if I have no default route (0.0.0.0/0) on main routing table that is marked as "active", then default routes on all other routing tables do not work (internet is inaccessible) The problem is remedied by creating an "active" default ...

Also a bit strange for me. So in order to secure an access to the admin panel we may only change the password? Re: Fast Reverse Proxy

A simple reverse proxy implementation would be great. FRP is an amazing little package, I use it regularly! But that obviously requires another device like a raspberry pi in addition to the Mikrotik. Something built-in would be great. AFAIK there's no way to implement a reverse port forward in Mikro...

Re: mAP Lite Ethernet susceptible to interference!

I've got the same problem with my mAP Lite. I noticed a problem with ethernet connectivity immediately after unboxing on first use, but didn't realize that it was caused by a design flaw with the magnet until reading this thread

Update: Mine's working perfectly since removing the magnets.

Good day Mikrotik devs and users I use RouterOS at the core of my network as it seems to be the most intuitive and effective router platform I've found, allowing me better control for my limited knowledge, especially in my case where I have a dual-wan PPPoE setup (route splitting, not bonding) and m...

nv2 still going strong here on x86 intel SMP... now on ROS 5.3, but it's been good since 5.2! The download page says x86 nv2 not supported, but they're probably leaving that message there while they test stability. Seems stable to me, though! :-)
