I'd like to leave the script up there but simply disable it from running for a bit.

If this is not possible I assume I can download the script and save it for later. I was just hoping there was functionality to simply disable it rather than delete it.

client dhcp/route setup question

I would like my client radios to hand down private dhcp such as a 192.168.1.1 over eth1 rather than what I am currently doing which is a completely bridged network. Ideally each radio will have a private static ip for management logins through dude (172.16.0.x) and hand down dhcp to the client route...

How to disable/enable client radio remotely

I'm looking for various ways to do this.

I was able to log in and disable the ethernet1 port. I can then get back in through winbox via mac as the ip address shows all 0's. The client had been back feeding dhcp.

What are some other ways to disable/enable a radio remotely or is this the most obvious?

Ping is low until you start to browse. In other words the car idles but when you put your foot down it chokes. I've experienced pings going up on my network when I reach capacity or have poor links. What is the power level of the link, ccq etc? do you have a tx/rx limit set and are you 'hitting' it?

I can use a 900 channel at the opposite end of the spectrum and use different antenna polarizations. 1.2 minimum meters isn't bad. I can do 2meters comfortably on this facility with vertical separation.

I'll give it a shot in the coming week or so and see how it goes.

That makes sense. Is it possible or worth trying to lock a radio into sp vs allowing it to be plcp? My understanding is that plcp long preamble transmits at 1Mbps and is 18bytes long while the shorter preamble can transmit at 1Mbps and the header at 2Mbps. Short preamble is 9 bytes as well, I think....

Re: sr9 vs xr9 for new deployment?

My understanding is that the sr9 is an ofdm card. I have used canopy fsk systems but they haven't done as well in forested areas as ofdm in my opinion. Can anyone tell me what technology the xr9 might be using. I know it's proprietary but any insight is helpful. I'm just trying to do all the homewor...

Re: sr9 vs xr9 for new deployment?

Thanks jp. Canopy won't be anywhere near this deployment radios. (Otherside of a mountain and the spectrum is clear) But good to know as I've thought of substituting in some mikrotik into another facility of ours that is 100% canopy.

Re: sr9 vs xr9 for new deployment?

I figured that was what you meant. We have sites with canopy gear (3 channels) where only 2 or 1 channel usable due to out of band interference. We have haven't put the time or money into cleaning up with filters to try and expand. Good to know about the sr9 and xr9 though. Can you recommend a filter?

Re: New Network map only says 'loading'

Well I seem to have gotten around the issue. I created the map but did not discover. I then manually added the devices in question. this worked. Anytime I tried to discover the map would crash at loading... or if I did discovery after creating the map and not during the creation I would see devices ...

Re: How far can I create a poe 24v link over cat5e?

It may not have failed in that sense. The only connection to the rig is via the bh as it is 100% off grid in mountains. We are experimenting with going vpol or hpol. It is now set to vpol and it seems that ground absorption is probably keeping the link down. (It was up and showing 75dbi when I was u...

Re: Noobie question - BH setup

Many thanks, I've set up in that fashion but wanted to ask a few more questions. My laptop wireless card picks up the ssid that I setup. I'd like to hide that from the public. Is that as easy as clicking 'hide ssid' at the lvl 4 unit? Second, could I connect multiple cpe's in this fashion? For examp...

Re: How far can I create a poe 24v link over cat5e?

I'm not sure what I'm looking for in the log but I'll have a look through it. Interesting point about doubling up the pins if ever necessary. I'll double check the amps but I can tell you this radio is at a 24v solar facility with 420amp hours of back up and two 130watt panels charging the system. T...

How far can I create a poe 24v link over cat5e?

I have an ap that seems to be rebooting when under load. (411ah with xr5 card) The cat5e run is approx 70meters and being fed by 24v poe injector. To be fair there is a splice in the wire. Can anyone give me an idea of what can be done distance wise with cat5e and 24v poe to power a 24v mikrotik boa...

sr9 vs xr9 for new deployment?

I'm setting up a 900 network off of a 5.8 bh and am trying to decide between the xr9 and sr9. Because the two are not interchangeable it seems the choice needs to be made now. xr9 with 600mw and filtered vs sr9 unfiltered and 700mw. Price is about the same it seems. Can anyone give me their experien...

Re: New Network map only says 'loading'

thanks for the tip. Unfortunately this is the default 'image' when first loading creating a map. I think it might be called 'grid' or something. Perhaps I can try to create a map without an image at all then add one later???

Re: New Network map only says 'loading'

Thanks anyway. I ended up reinstalling 3.5 and wiping settings. If I re-import my saved xml the problem is still there but I've found that the map always disappears when I close dude. I'm thinking of starting over. (100 devices) but something isn't right if I can't add maps. On the other note though...

Just tried. Disconnected at the lightning bolt then relogged on locally and went back to the map in question. Still sitting there 'loading..' If it matters I can delete and recreate this map as there are only 3 devices on it now. (BH and a router on a new project). I just don't know what I would do ...

Ok, I am not loading any images or at least have not specified any.

What do you mean when you say disconnect and reconnect the client? I am logged on to the computer running the dude server as local host and experiencing this issue.

Re: Can I make a ap/bh-bridge on one radio

I don't think that is what I'm looking for. I expect it will be one network but that one of the cpe's will act as a bh to feed up the bandwidth. I'm told this will work fine in the short term but that I will experience performance issues at the network grows. Perhaps I don't have to do anything for ...

Can I make a ap/bh-bridge on one radio

I am looking to feed bandwidth from one level 3 cpe 411 board (xr5 5ghz card) up to a 411ah w/level 4 license which will then also act as an ap. The goal is to keep from putting up two radios to do the job of BH and AP. the other option is I could get a router board that handles two mini pci cards a...

Re: my first back haul

So i've setup a bridge, added eth1 and wlan1 to the bridge. I set the 411ah as bridge and the 411 as station. I have turned on wds on each unit. they link and pass ipconfiguration info but I can't pass traffic or ping out. I have no routes defined.

Any input?

how can i limit service discovery to just one service?

I am new to dude and am trying to limit the service discovery to just ping. I find that even after I go into a device and remove the services I don't want discovered it still rediscovers those services on the next polling period. What can I do to limit the services being polled?

Thanks in advance
