Re: CAPsMAN errors in log

For all those who experience this... First, pay attention to the firewall rules. If You have firewall rules on the bottom of the list where You block everything which is not approved in some rule above then You have to add a firewall rule which will approve UDP 5246,5247 ports input. If the wireless...

RouterOS is happy to do it. You can add "computer1" as hostname for static record and if anyone asks for it, RouterOS will return correct address. The trouble is, clients don't do that. Choosing the right mikrotik hardware

Hello everyone... Please help me to choose between CCR1036-12G-4S and CCR1036-12G-4S-EM. The device will be used to do the routing from 4 internet providers. It will supply internet to 5 different subnets and it will be used to limit the bandwidth to some PCs and machines, VPN connections. The main ...

Re: Suitable hardware for specific network

No, they will still be two devices, so the ports of the CRS226 will not be visible on the CCR1009. But if you use VLAN's you can create seperated ports on the CRS226 and then tag them to the uplink to the CCR1009 and it can do the routing (create VLAN interfaces with interfaces in those VLAN's, thu...

Re: Suitable hardware for specific network

It all depends on how the traffic will be used. Copying the files to and from several ports can be accomplished with a switch. This would be non-blocking and all ports could be used at the same time without slowdown. Routing several Gigabits you are looking at a Core Cloud Router, a bit slower but ...

Re: Routing multiple static address

Assign the 3 public IP addresses from your ISP to your MT. From there, create srcnat rules and don't use action=masquerade. Use action=srcnat. Doing this will allow you to specify which public IP should be used for each subnet. Eg: /ip firewall nat add action=src-nat chain=srcnat comment="Subnet 1"...

I recommend Sandisk Extreme pro, Lexar Pro or PQI industrial.
For me it is much easier to not think about it but to rely on the fact that I can always count on a new HDD without having to buy a new license. Thanks, anyway I will try Your recommendations. Thanks for reply.

It will stop in frequent power loss. This is what happened in my case. Tested with kingston 2 and 4 GB CF cards.

CF or any other memory has a lifetime so I will loose the license anyway. Especially in bad operating conditions. Thanks for reply.

Yeah. A full mesh. PPTP tunnels between all routers. You could also run EoIP or IPIP or GRE (preferred) across PPTP, and you can then run a routing protocol such as OSPF across the tunnels. I guess you will need to configure a second router as a backup PPTP Server. Then every other router should connect to the second. Are you trying to provide more than one exit point router that is connected to the Internet to other routers in a large network? Use OSPF and have both introduce default routes. To bring MAC address information to your firewall you'll need to encapsulate llayer2 in TCP or UDP. Use GRE or EOIP or VPLS between the two networks to bridge them together.
