Re: Radius - Accounting for Total Usage

Unfortunately the WAN is a low-speed variable interface that we don't control. I see Radius Accounting options everywhere, but have no idea if these are Hotspot only relevant, or how exactly to make use of them. We already have the Radius server in place, and would love to track everything through ...

Re: Radius - Accounting for Total Usage

Hi, what technology is the WAN port? Can you use pppoe to log usage for the customer, and then perhaps just direct ethernet traffic for the hotspot? if you manage the connection that the WAN is connected to, perhaps you can use VLAN to seperate the customer and hotspot traffic. Cheers! Unfortunatel...

Radius - Accounting for Total Usage

Good morning Mikrotikers. I suspect this might be something ridiculously simple that I'm missing, thus my question here. We are currently making use of Routerboard 750's to split Internet access. 1 Ports is basically "open" for full no restriction access to the WAN interface. The other is ...

Re: Blocking/Firewalling everything except Browsing

Seems I got it working when using 0.0.0.0/0 in both Src and Dst Address.

So I'm sure if I specify the IP ranges, then it will work just as well.

Thanks for the assist!

Blocking/Firewalling everything except Browsing

Winbox n00b here. I assumed it would be as easy as putting in an overall drop / forward / all protocols rule, and then simply adding accept / forward / tcp / Port 80 and everything should work, but this doesn't appear to be the case. I'm by no means an expert on these things, but can't think what I'...

Re: Checking WAN IP - Possibly forwarding to FreeRadius

I get all the info from Nas-IP-Address and Framed-IP-Address and so on.

Effectively I just need a third one "Wan-IP-Address" and have that register in the Radius Database.

Re: Checking WAN IP - Possibly forwarding to FreeRadius

Hmm, using a unique Hotspot name might work, but I'm not sure it will quite solve the problem. We will effectively run one "open" network on one of the ports, and then a Hotspot-based network on another. We ultimately need the WAN IP to see where it came from, all of it, not just the hotsp...

Re: Checking WAN IP - Possibly forwarding to FreeRadius

Unfortunately this isn't for our own network, but rather for roll out to clients. And effectively they get a Static (but Dynamically assigned) IP address. We have access to this information, but it's a very manual process at present as we can't get Radius to pick up on the information, and thus incl...

Re: Checking WAN IP - Possibly forwarding to FreeRadius

Welcome to the MikroTik forum! You should be able to see the addresses in "/ip address". I use the CLI, but it is not difficult to translate to WinBox. The hotspot is the service I use with FreeRADIUS. No problems with what you want to do. Take a look at the wiki (FAQ and Examples link at...

Checking WAN IP - Possibly forwarding to FreeRadius

Good morning. I've only as of the beginning of this week been exposed to the Routerboard750 and thus RouterOS in general. Now I've been asked to come up with a billing solution, directly linked to WAN IP issues to the Mikrotik 750, by the Router it is attached to. Is there any possible way to check ...
