Re: IGMP Snooping

*bump*

+1 for IGMP Snooping.

I guess everyone who tries IPTV with a MikroTik faces the same issue and the solution always ends up being the same; use a standard consumer router instead :(

Re: RB750G firmware upgrade problem

there is no good reason why to run RB750G at lower frequency :) since changing that has very little impact on power usage, since 1Gbps interfaces are the watt hogs on the board Didn't know that it would have no effect. Good to know. It does seem odd that having the frequency lower than 400 made a d...

Re: RB750G firmware upgrade problem

Yes, of course! To give you next advice, we need to assume you followed previous advice, not reverted back. Right, so I'm supposed to sit around and not try anything else in the 2 weeks between your responses? *edit* That worked. /system routerboard print routerboard: yes model: 750G serial-number:...

Re: RB750G firmware upgrade problem

You did not follow the advice you were given several times! Your router has this line: force-backup-booter: yes Yes I did, you just made an assumption that I didn't See above how many times you were told to set this to "NO". Also manually set the CPU frequency to 400MHz, then power cycle ...

Re: RB750G firmware upgrade problem

I did not know that. 1. Type "/system routerboard upgrade" and then make a supout.rif file without rebooting. Send the file to us 2. Organize remote access to this device, so we can connect and see what's going on (email support for this, and also attach that file) I've sent the file and ...

Re: Problem upgrading bootloader

Hi, i have solved this problem Try this: 1. log-in to winbox 2. then: system>routerboard (pls from GUI, not console) 3. and then click "Upgrade" (from GUI of course, not console) This work, i think console commands are bugged. Doesn't make any difference. This is how I tried to do it in t...

Re: RB750G firmware upgrade problem

What packages did you install for 5.7?
What I'm wondering here is if you might get different results using the combined .npk package versus the separate ones...
I've only installed

routeros-mipsbe-5.7.npk
ntp-5.7-mipsbe.npk

Re: Problem upgrading bootloader

I've tried all of those things multiple times. I've tried downgrading to 4.17 and updating from there, no change. I've tried setting force-backup-booter=no, no change. I've tried the fwf from the 750GL, no change. I've tried upgrading from the 5.7 fwf (in the npk), no change. I have no idea what to ...

Re: RB750G firmware upgrade problem

OK, firmware was successfully upgraded.

First I downgraded OS to 4.17 there was possible upgrade firmware to 2.29 and after upgrade OS to 5.7, firmware was successfully upgraded to 2.36 .

Thank you for your help!

I've tried this too, still stuck on 2.23 :/

Re: Problem upgrading bootloader

But thanks for information! Now I've tried not to press button, but write command directly - and firmware is upgraded to 2.36 on one of mine RB750G :) That really surprised me, so I connected to second RB750G immediately, pressed "Upgrade" button in Winbox, rebooted and ... firmware is up...

Re: PPTP Profile, adding to a bridge

is your PPTP MRRU >= 1500 bytes? You need a matching MTU size to bridge them all.
Ok,

That would explain it then. I get an MTU of 1400 when the vpn is up. The max MTU in the pptp server setup is 1460.

PPTP Profile, adding to a bridge

I have pptp setup and working fine. However in PPP->Profiles if I set the bridge in my pptp profile when the connection is brought up the pptp connection is listed in Interfaces (type pptp server) but it's not added to the bridge as specified in its profile. Is this expected behaviour? Thanks LeChat
