use a switch.....cheaper. But, if you want a second Router, just connect the WAN to a LAN making sure you use a different IP address setup. Then follow basic router rules.

I had to add a gb switch and move all my connections to it, which solved the flap. I did notice that the flapping disappeared when I used ONLY gb connections on ports 2-5 ONLY. RB3011 Power inputs?? [SOLVED]

RB3011 can be power by DC jack and via ether1 24vdc PoE. Can it be powered both DC jack and PoE at the same time? Advantages? Firmware update issues?

I also read a post that claimed using both inputs at the same time solved the RB3011 "flapping" problem.

I'd reset the router to a blank config. Then bridge the ports adding wifi. add a ip address to it, password protect it, wifi security.

When you reset it to a blank config, you built the features from "nothing" until your happy.

actually it might. I've noticed that latency goes UP when a link is bottlenecked. So, you could create a bottleneck via bandwidth testing and allow it to run while doing your test.
