Re: HAP AC faulty seriers - very poor LAN performance? (switch problem)

We have RMA-ed all of the units - two different shops. One of them gave us a new unit, the other one returned the unit with statement, that upgrading fixed the problem - I tested it today ... and guess what - it didn't - so even we would like to send those units back for inspection to Mikrotik, we h...

Re: HAP AC faulty seriers - very poor LAN performance? (switch problem)

It is reproducible on 2 units. For the rest it was enough to use wireless-rep package with 6.35RC ROS - problem was occurring with some Intel wireless cards (eg. Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 8260 in Lenovo Yoga 900), but using wireless-rep is fixing that. So after we get some kind of replacement for ...

Re: HAP AC

So ... it seems that temperature is the problem - with increasing temperature the available speed is dramatically decreasing. More info can be found here: http://forum.mikrotik.com/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=106176&p=530493#p530493 joke: could you also try temperature testing? Where have you bought...

Re: HAP AC faulty seriers - very poor LAN performance? (switch problem)

Hi, so we have found the source of the problem - its temperature. We cooled down the unit to 15°C and started testing. The results were following with iperf and System/Health temp: 15 °C 0.00-10.00 sec 924 MBytes 776 Mbits/sec sender 0.00-10.00 sec 848 MBytes 711 Mbits/sec receiver 23 °C 0.00-10.00 ...

Re: HAP AC

I would like to give you guys a heads up and ask for advice, because it seems there is a faulty series of HAP AC with somehow corrupted switch causing terrible performance on ethernet ports - I still hope its some kind of software issue (or maybe wrong config) but support is not responding to our em...

Re: HAP AC faulty seriers - very poor LAN performance? (switch problem)

So we got one more HAP AC and it is working correctly. So its definitely a faulty series. The one that is OK has SN: 6737055FAF54 Two APs tested today, that have this poor result have SN: 6737051BD37F 673705E06641 I will test the rest tomorrow. Too bad, that support is not responding at all - so I g...

Re: HAP AC faulty seriers - very poor wireless performance?

So after some more testing we decided to get SFP S-RJ01 - and guess what - everything is running very smooth and fast - over 500Mbit/s with wireless-rep symetric So we tested some more and we suspect that the switch might be the source of problems, because when we tested on wired connection with SFP...

HAP AC faulty seriers - very poor LAN performance? (switch problem)

Hi, we got 6 RB962UiGS-5HacT2HnT but the performance in our network is horrible. So we tried to play with it a little bit and compared it to Ruckus which has steady results around 150 Mbit/sec. We tried the default settings with 6.34.3 and we got following results on iperf: 0.00-10.00 sec 48.0 MByte...

Re: HAP AC

I have a bad feeling that there is something wrong not with papers but the product itself, Mikrotik is not doing papers for the first time and there is no answer from them, so it looks to me like the product is having some major issues and they try to "cover" it with silence... It would be...

Re: HAP AC

Is there any information about approximate date? It would be perfect if it would be out till the end of this month as we will definitely need a lot of them in december.

[BUG?] 6.30 - Getting wireless frequency no longer works

Hi all, I have a simple script that does frequnecny autotuning in the morning and then fixes it (we don't wnat any changes in frequency during the working hours). After upgrading from 6.29.1 to 6.30, this command no longer works: :local oldFrequency; /interface wireless monitor wlan1 once do={:set o...

Radius, WPA2 EAP and bandwidth limit

Hi all, I use WPA2 - EAP for wireless client auth. I dont want to use hotspot. As a radius server, I use Freeradius. I need to limit bandwidth for users so I have tried to use attribute Mikrotik-Rate-Limit, but no Simple Queue entries were created upon users connection. So .. is there a way how to a...

Ethernet port freezes on RB750GL

Hi, We have a RB750GL set up as NAT device only (srcnat masquerade and 3 dst-nat rules). One ethernet port is connected to our LAN and second one is connected to UBIQUITI NanoStation5 with a 40 meter long Ethernet cable. The problem is, that the ethernet port connected to the NanoStation began to fr...

I had to put it in connect list, because putting it in Access list didn't have any effect. Thanks for punching me in the right direction :)

Wireless repeater - how to prevent a loop creation

Hi, I have my configuration from this thread: http://forum.mikrotik.com/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=42482 Everything is working fine until I set the SSID to the same name that is on the Linksys AP. So I have this: Linksys AP (SSID: DPN) > Mikrotik Pseudoclient > Mikrotik AP Bridge (SSID: DPN). But ther...

Setting up a repeater

Hi, I have a wireless network and I need to extend it. The problem is that the AP that I want to extend is a basic Linksys ADSL Router (WAG160Nv2). My "extender" is a RB433 with 2 WLAN cards. My idea was to set one of them as a client and the second one as an AP and then create a simple br...

Hotspot - limit interface bandwidth and every user

Hi, I am trying to set up a little hotspot for public use - I have a 4MBit ADSL line, but I don't want to give all the bandwidth - so I want to limit wlan interface to 1MBit. Then I want every hotspot user to get download speed up to 128kbit/s - I am able to do that with SQ, but how should I limit t...
