Re: Redundancy implementation

@fewi : MAIN Router is Vyatta runing bgp on 3 peers - and i could make ospf instead of using vrrp. I would say that i even should:). But vrrp is much easier / faster. I set up on main router ie. -> ip r a 178.200.216.0/22 via IP_ADDRES_OF_VRRP and it is done . If R0 goes down - R1 takes its job. Whe...

Redundancy implementation

Hi, i am trying to implement some redundancy:) Please correct what you think is wrong. Thanks for any suggestion. All below is in testing lab. There will be different IP addresses in production . As You can see on the diagram... We have 2 PPPoE servers connected to a switch serving clients PPPoE sim...

Re: Supermicro Atom D510 Compatibility, performance

Thanks Tom for testing this hardware. I appreciate it a lot. Anyway - we upgraded one of our BRAS serwers terminating 350 PPPoE sessions by mistake :) to version ROS 5.0rc7. It was a disaster. CPU was 100% almost all the time. All interfaces were disappearing and appearing . So i think we will wait ...

Re: Intel 82574L Gigabit Interface

5.x is developement . So i will not risk installing it on production machine that terminates 1k pppoe sessions.

Is that 100% sure that Intel 82574L NIC will not work in 4.x ? I see some e1000 changes in 4.x changelog..

Re: Supermicro Atom D510 Compatibility, performance

No, it needs the newer Linux kernel (in RouterOS 5.x) for support. Tom Thanks Tom for answer. That is shitty - because 5.x is not stable to put it on box that would be responsible for pppoe for 1k or 2k sessions. Is that 100% sure that Intel 82574L NIC will not work ? I see some e1000 changes in 4....

What about MT 3.30 or 4.16 ?
Does it work on this hardware?
Are network cards OK?

Re: v5rc7 released

Strange.
We replaced thet x86 box with some other.
When it was not connected to the production network ( it was not running 300 pppoe sessions ) the downrade was OK.

Re: Redundant PPPOE Mikrotik Servers

Slightly offtopic.
How many sessions do you have ?
Is it possible that MT can handle up to 2000 sessions - shape the traffic and nat them - without problem?

downgrade v5rc7

Hi,
we upgraded to 5rc7 on x86 but we noticed that interfaces disappear and appear .
We tried to downgrade to 4.16.
I downloaded all packages - put them to the mikrotik - run /system package downgrade - the box rebooted BUT no effect.
It is still 5rc7.

Please help - how to downgrade.

Re: MT crashes

We also suffer from that issue on 30-40 MT with PPPoE Server enabled.

After some days/hours without any regularity - it just simply hangs.

Nstreme2 + SNMP

Hi, I would like to monitor rx-signal-strength / tx-signal-strength and rx-rate/tx-rate on nstreme2 interfaces via SNMP in RouterOS 3.14 . What OID is responsible for rx/tx signal and rate ? I can not find anything in snmpwalk -v2c -c public 10.0.0.22 -m /tmp/MIKROTIK-MIB.txt or snmpwalk -v2c -c pub...
