Re: WRITE usage of disk

So, is it reccomended to use flash/SSD/DOM or not?
Based on your experience, are they reliable with MT, or would it be better to use normal disks?

Thanks,

Re: WRITE usage of disk

46568 sector writes in how much time? 1 day or 1 week?

It is a lot. So I have the impression it is safer to use a normal HD.

WRITE usage of disk

Knowing mortality of flash disks, doms and SSD units, when they are intensively used for writing, which is the typical read and write usage of disks made by Mikrotic?
Does it use disks only for boot and configuration, or does it use disks also for routine operations?

KingSton SSD SS100S2/8G not detected on 5.7

We tried to install MT 5.7 on Proliant DL360 G4p SATA.
Using SATA DOMs MT is installed fine, while using SATA SSD MT does not detect any disk.

Should SSD be like a normal disk?
Why MT does not work with this SSD disk?

Thanks,

Re: General questions on RouterOS

Get Intel NIC's, and the fastest clockspeed CPU you can find.In general here you should go for clock speed instead of multicore abilities. If you can get it, you will be better off with a 3.5 GHz dual-core CPU (like Xeon 52xx) than a 3 GHz quad-core CPU. Additional cores will not be used by network...

Re: General questions on RouterOS

forget about RB1000-1100 for you network, no more than 150-200MBit whith little firewall. Use Core-i5-i7 based routers or Xeon 54x, 55x, 56x + Intel based ethernet. (Now on Core-i7 have 2 BGB full view uplink, ~ 400 Mbit traffic, heavy mangle chain, little forward chain , little nat chain, CPU load...

General questions on RouterOS

We are ISP designing a new network, and we are evaluating Mikrotik as on of first choices. We have two x 200Mbit Internet connections, going to two x 1Gbit, need to use BGP, VLANs, dedicated subnetworks and firewalls for customers, etc. We've already tried Routeros under VMware and we feel unsatisfi...

No harddrives found on proliant...

We are trying RouterOs 4.9 on some "old" but powerful DL320 G2, with 2.8 Ghz CPU, double gigabit and IDE disks, and we are facing this strange problem (which looks to exist for every older version). Tipically, Proliants have two IDE controllers, the first used only for CD, the second for HD, so the ...
