Re: XBOX Live Causing High Ping Times on RB 333

What type of queues are necessary for this type of traffic shaping. I have a simple queue setup for limiting their bandwidth, but when they have a ton of tcp connections open at one time when playing XBOX, the s***t hits the fan.

Thanks

Can you give me an example of a queue setup that you may have performed for this type of senario.

XBOX Live Causing High Ping Times on RB 333

How can you prevent one person from bringing down an AP while they play XBOX Live? When this client plays XBOX, they open up a ton of connections and the ping times to everybody else connected to the AP go up to like 1200ms. Any info would be great.

RB 333 and two R52H Power Consumption

We are setting up a solar sight, and was wondering if anybody knows what the continuous amp usage is for a RB 333 and two R52H cards. Also could you please let me know the individual breakdown for the RB 333 continuous amp usage and the R52H's.

Thanks

SR5 Connecting to a R52

We have a 44 mile link up. We replaced on one end a RB532 with a PC based system. We put an SR5 in the PC based system shooting back to the other end which is a RB532 with an R52 in it. We will be eventually be replacing the other end as well. The link came up fine, however our bandwidth dropped sig...

Correct Power setting for SR5

I have a PtP link with a -47 rssi. I need to turn the power down to get it around -65. I have read on the forum that the power settings in Mikrotik are not correct with the SR5. I have the power turned down to 8db which brings it to -57, but what are the correct values for determining the correct po...

Can you post an example of your queues configurations. We have tried to set a few but this resulted in extreme packet loss. We are running 5 ghz 10mhz channels with approx. 48 customers on the ap. The average AP bandwidth utilization is approx. 1.5 megs.

High Ping times when one person donwloads a big file

What would cause the ping times to all of the other clients to rise by about 150 ms when one person on the AP is downloading a file at about 2 Megs? Are there any settings that would help prevent this? The average ping times are around 45 ms, and when this person is downloading they go up to 200 + m...

Blown Ethernet Ports During Thunder Storm

We lost four RB112's to a thunder storm this week. The wireless side was not damaged, but the ethernet ports stopped negotiating with the client side. These boards were all housed in Pac Wireless rootennas. How can this be prevented, and what grounding measures are people taking to make sure that th...

43 Mile PtP Dual Nstream

We just got up a 43 mile PtP Dual Nstream with a -65 rssi and are getting around 10 megabit accross it. What are some key settings that can improve the bandwidth as far as Framer Policy, etc. etc. Also it says that it is connected at 45 mbits TX and RX.

I believe this is correct for the US: fixed PtP max EIRP = 30 + antenna gain. Correct me if I am wrong.

All clients in the registration table get disconnectied

We see our clients get dropped for no reason. This happens about twice a day. They just disassociate and then reassociate within a few seconds. Anyone have an ideas on this one. We are running AP Bridge with station WDS on the router board 112's for the client ends. There are 19 CPE's connected to t...

RB532 Locking up once Nstream was enabled

We have a RB532 that has started locking up once we enabled Nstream. We have set up a watchdog to reboot once it does it but what a pain. It will stay up for about 2 days before this happens. Any ideas why enabling Nstream would cause this. I would like to leave it on because of the polling. Thanks

I'll try to generalize this a bit. I have two NICs in the PC based router, and they are assigned IP addresses on the same network/mask (which I know is invalid...but must happen). One is connected to a LAN switch and the other to a MikroTik PTP, which interface needs to have proxy-arp enabled so tha...

Disregard the GW IP of 192.168.122.1. This was for test purposes to see if I could get RouterOS to work with IP's on different subnets. Sorry for the confusion. The pictures show how it REALLY is/should be configured. The PC based router has 2 NICs and the IPs would be as follow (in my mind at least...

Hello all: We have a new 5Ghz P2P link and I we have the ethernet IP's set with a 192.168.70.0/24 and the wireless IP's set with a 192.168.80.0/24 and obviously bridging the two interfaces on both the Station WDS and the AP Bridge radios.
