It's actually another process, not thread that web-server starts in. Web-server instance seems to be using named pipes to communicate with the local server instance, which doesn't work well under wine. Ability to run web-server component on a different host. Similar to how client portion can connect to Dude server via a local pipe or remote socket. Web-server could use the same access settings that client is normally using (server host IP, port, username, password).
