Re: The Dude, work continues: v6.35rc test builds.

I finally got my dude database to import, rc11 seems to have fixed whatever was wrong. Also One feature request in particular I'd like to put in is the ability to define custom interfaces on a device and have the dude treat it like any other interface and graph bit rates and all that. Specifically I...

Re: CHR 6.34rc45 + dude import not working

Same problem here, got to 99 % then it perpetually prints applying settings: enabling: reading db object. The number will change and sometimes cycle back to an old one but thats about it. Edit: The dude is running underneath though, if you torch the interface you can see traffic going to your device...

Re: The Dude, work continues: v6.35rc test builds.

So far so good guys, I'm stoked you started development again, and right as I was considering changing to NetXMS, so bonus points on saving me a whole mess of work although there are some extensibility aspects that could be copied from NetXMS. One feature request in particular I'd like to put in is ...

Re: CCR and Internet BGP - survey of user experiences

Been running our CCR1036-12g-4s since they were available as a preproduction product with full bgp coming from two upstream providers totaling 730k routes passing 400mbps of traffic with no problems what so ever. This router only runs BGP on it though, no ospf or anything else. Currently running v6.9

Re: Auto upload packet capture to ftp server

I hate to reply to my own topic, but I found a way to do it. I'm using the netwatch tool with "tool sniffer stop" for its down script and I'll just log into the router manually and retrieve the packet capture that way.

Auto upload packet capture to ftp server

I'm going to be running packet capture on a mikrotik router to try and help packet flux trouble shoot their base units locking up. What I need is a script that will ping a device and upload the most recent packet capture to an ftp server after the device becomes unresponsive to ping. I've never used...

BGP update rate limiting

So since BGP is still not optimized for multicore one of the cores on our CCR is almost always at 100%. In another thread I saw a suggestion to limit the frequency of bgp updates. How would I do this? We pull bgp tables from 2 upstream providers and load balance our traffic between the two. We only ...

Re: Which way would you choose for starting WISP today?

bgp for external routing especially if you are going to multihome, ospf for internal, cloud core for the core router hp switches, the ones that run the 3com os, everywhere else with saf or trango backhauls, ubiquiti air fiber if the shots are short enough for 23-24ghz and it doesnt rain too much whe...

Re: CCR in production environment

Sorry for the off topic reply @n21roadie They are very effective, they also cover youtube and other streaming services as well. It's been a while since I have dug into them and really examined them but if I'm not mistaken they work on a per video stream basis rather than a per IP basis so that 2 peo...

Re: CCR in production environment

We have deployed one as our core router for ~900 customers or so. There were some teething issues in the beginning but this is to be expected running on release candidates, currently the only real complaints we have are that bgp seems to be limited to a single core right now and our mangle rules for...

Getting pinged from 255.255.255.255

So I work for an ISP that has ~900 customers. We use a cloud core as our core router on it I have some firewall rules to limit the amount of icmp packets any source can send to any destination to help mitigate PoD attacks. What I have noticed as that in pretty regular intervals on the output chain I...

Showing probe value in a display label

as the name suggests is there any way to show the value of a probe in a devices display label
if not what I'm trying to do is get the label to show "PoE On" if the snmp value 1.3.6.1.4.1.32050.2.1.26.5.2 returns 1 and "PoE Off" if it returns 0 any help

Load balancing accross multiple upstream providers

Ok, I am probably not doing this correctly. So here is my problem: I work for a small ISP and right now we only have one bandwidth provider. So, we just use a Cisco 3550 to run our network. Well, we ran out of bandwidth, so here in about three weeks we will have a second bandwidth provider. So we pu...

Net-SNMP integration

Im trying to call on net snmp from within the dude so I can write snmp values from within the dude. The tool I have created looks like this snmpset -v 1 -c [Device.CustomField1] 10.240.1.15 1.3.6.1.4.1.32050.2.1.26.5.0 i 0 however when I execute the tool from the dude it does nothing. I have tried r...

Canopy Subscriber modules and the dude

Is there any way at all to retrieve a list of subscriber modules off of a canopy access point and display the bandwidth usage of them. I have a customer who keeps his bandwidth usage pegged all day and I need to find him
