Access to modem behind Mikrotik router

Hi guys, I think this is very basic, yet I'm stucked to figure out how to get it work. I'm having an DSL modem in front of my mikrotik, and a bunch of computers behind my mikrotik of cause. Since my shitty modem doesn't allow me to make it into bridge mode, I have to bind a static IP for my MT on th...

Allow/Enable DLNA traffic

Hi guys, I don't much about the DLNA nor the protocols it uses yet, but since I have a new smart-tv connect to the network, DLNA support would be quiet handy. I'm running on a RB493AH, with v5.21 installed. Basicly, I want Eth6 (192.168.6.0/24) to allow DLNA to and from WLAN (192.168.9.0/24). I have...

Re: Multi DHCP clients on same WAN port

Hav you tried creating Virtual Ethernet interfaces and bridging them together with the WAN interface? Sounds like something I have to try. Havn't think about the bridge part of it, so will give it a try in the weekend. Hav you tried creating Virtual Ethernet interfaces and bridging them together wi...

Re: Multi DHCP clients on same WAN port

Why can they not give you all 5 ips on the same mac address via static addressing and then you NAT them from there? I don't know why they can't do so, called them and they told me that they never would be able to do. As far as I can see, they attach a mac address for each giving ip. Lets say they g...

Multi DHCP clients on same WAN port

Hi guys, I'm wondering, is it possible in any way, to make more than one DHCP Client for the same interface? I only have one internet connection and therefor only one WAN port. My ISP can't deliver me an IP scoop that I can manage on my own (route it on my RB on my own), which means if I buy 5 IP's,...

Hi there, I have an RB493AH for home use. Re: Public IPs on same WAN interface

It seems that there are some views, but my question/purpose ain't clear enough. In other words, are there a way that I can assign/spoof/clone more than 1 MAC address to a single Eth port (Eth0)? Because in that way I will be enable to get more than 1 public IP to my Eth0 port, and can NAT it from th...

That make sense. I have some Mangle rules too, as listed in the Dimitry exampel. Should I be missing anything in the firewall setting which have importance of standard rules (beside my owns specific firewalling rules)?

Re: 493AH + R52n as home router

The masquerade rule is just another src-nat rule/action. It changes the packet header to a src-address of it's public interface. If you wanted to, you could specify an actual public IP you wanted to NAT traffic out of with action=src-nat instead, but with you picking up a DHCP lease masquerade will...

Re: Updaing OS in RB 750

How did you upgrade your firmware to 4.10? Did you use the WinBox drag&drop function? And did you make sure you only dropped the .npk package (download link for .npk file for your model http://download.mikrotik.com/routeros-mipsbe-4.10.npk). I just did on my RB493AH board today, and works perfectly!...

Re: 493AH + R52n as home router

You are complicating things a bit too much. For you LAN you have two options. 1.) Use the switch chip on the Mikrotik to tie all of the ports together. Never used it so no idea how to get it working properly. 2.) Bridge ether2 - ehter9 together and do everything you want, DHCP/IP addresses, etc. on...

493AH + R52n as home router

Hi guys, My old wireless home router has started to act strange, and saw my cut to buy a new better and more effective router, and in same way learn about a new Router OS (have only used pfSense this far, which is quiet simply by the webinterface, probably because I'm used to it). Anyways, I need so...
