Re: v6.44.5 [long-term] is released!

44.5 caused Mipse and CCR's to port flap.. I'm not sure why, but when we go to 44.3 it stops.. Going to 445 or above, including the latest BETA crashed an entire leg of our network. Ports were flapping that had nothing plugged in to them, and some where BH's were and it would just flap OSPF constan...

Why doesn't watchdog turn off

Do you think MT could make the watchdog turn off when I uncheck it and apply that change. It's sickening that something SO SIMPLE does not work properly when you turn it off. I should not have to change the IP address to something else for it to turn off. Otherwise remove the stupid check box that l...

Re: MPLS routes not matching IP route

It happens every single time the router reboots. And due to a watchdog and other issues on this segment for some reason that seems to happen every day or two. So, each time I have to enable and re-enable for MPLS to function properly. BIG Issue.

Ethernet ports on that don't have anything plugged in to them

Why does it seem like I'm getting this issue while after changing to 6.41? I now how two routers that are doing this in the past couple weeks after upgrading.

Are they just junk, or is the software doing something it shouldn't??

Re: MPLS routes not matching IP route

So does this not happen to any one else, or do you just not realize that it is happening?
For the life of me I can't figure out why MPLS routes become different than the same routers IP route list after that router reboots. I have to stop and start MPLS for the MPLS table to get corrected....

Router with ports not working all of a sudden

1009 router, 6.41, with at least a couple ports stopped working after a reboot. Needed another reboot to get half of the ports working... Seems related to my other post about ports showing as down when they aren't. Ports still down, and are showing up.

This is a different router than my other post(s)

MPLS routes not matching IP route

Trying to figure out why this happens after this router reboots. Routes stay proper (it seems) the rest of the time. I have to disable and re-enable MPLS for the routes to "sync" with the IP route/OSPF table in the router to get it back to normal. This is on a 1009 with 6.41 on it

Where is multicast helper located?
I purchased a hap to use as a customer cpe for multicast specifically, and can't find the helper under advanced wireless any where...
I even tried to update it to whatever teh current latest build is, and that bricked the unit. So now I'm really out of luck.

Re: PPPoE MSS clamp no working on upgrade

What is the MTU/MRU/MRRU configuration on router? What exact rules did you add to make it work again? What should be on client side and ppooe_servers? 1480/1480/1600 are these correct ? Have you tried to sniff packets on another device behind this router to see MSS when Mangle rules are not there a...

Re: PPPoE MSS clamp no working on upgrade

Are you running 6.40.x version? If you enable change-tcp-mss on PPP/Profile and get rid of these Mangle rules does it work properly? Starting from 6.39 we have this: !) ppp - implemented internal algorithm for "change-mss", no mangle rules necessary; Later versions had more improvements and now sta...

Re: PPPoE MSS clamp no working on upgrade

Yes we are on 6.40. The problem is when I updated a handful of routers, my customers stopped working. MT should have "change mss" to "ON" by default in later versions so that this doesn't happen to people upon an update. Manual intervention after an update to fix a problem i didn't have before is tr...

Re: PPPoE MSS clamp no working on upgrade

So. If you build a PPPoE concentrator in a lower version, we used all of the defaults from that. So change mss is set to "default", and not explicitly set to "yes". I added these to get my PPPoE customer to work properly again. /ip firewall mangle> print Flags: X - disabled, I - invalid, D - dynamic...

PPPoE MSS clamp no working on upgrade

This is probably an old issue, as we were many versions behind in our network. I have recently updated a few MT routers to 40.1. In the process of updating them my PPPoE clients stopped working properly. Some websites would load while others would not etc.. Upon investigation, the rule that original...

Re: Contrack won't turn off in 6.19

Update: The monitoring issue isn't related. That was an unknown configuration error that just happened to pop up at the same time. I would still like to know why contrack won't turn off. We do use PPPoE on this router, and I understand the mangle rules are there for that. Is this the reason why prob...

Contrack won't turn off in 6.19

I have contrack disabled, or set to no, but it is still tracking multiple connections that are not going to or from the router. And also don't have anything to do with PPPoE on this head end MT. This in turn is holding on to connections that should be closing I believe and messing up some of our mon...

Re: Trying to set up PCQ

Does Masquerade happen in DST-NAT then? I don't see how packets are being marked using the Private Src-Natted IP's using forward then. As it shows, and looks pretty clear the Src-NAT is after forward. I'm getting tired I know, so I'd better leave this alone for the night. I just can't quite follow t...

I follow your example, and I think I am getting a grasp on how the packet flows work.. Am I correct to assume then, that the packet flow diagram stays stationary in the flow? You would just move the in and out interface accordingly to "show" the flow? So in the case of an outbound packet from a clie...

Re: Trying to set up PCQ

I can follow your first post. The only thing I am asking is if you have multiple Mangles. One for upload the other for download??
The QOS video claims you don't need to do that with Mangle, but maybe you do using NAT.

That's useless information without a network diagram (what does ether8 connect to? What, no body knows how to do this?? It's not like I asked which or what script do I enter in my mangle rules, or how to set up PCQ classifiers.. I have this working I believe now.. But I am not totally convinced it is correct. My head end router is running v4.11. It does NAT, 1:1, some firewall rules, and PCQ for our network. I would like to make sure I have the proper interfaces and settings for the PCQ if someone is willing to verify. I ha...

My largest goal is to slow down the "hogs" so that my normal customers won't have such a hard time. Re: CHALLENGE!! (Create a dynamic QOS that deprioritizes)

Scalability is a concern. But if I can work this the way I would like to, you could have the same code at each border router. It is (or I think it should be) a border router, to manage the "total" bandwidth going from/to your clients. If we can prioritize traffic via individual client management and...
