Re: Simpel Queues

The part for radius is just in case the tower build crew forget to put that setting in the router config. It would be more of a safety thing but not required.

Re: Simpel Queues

This is what we are testing for our network. As we are still looking if we can pass the queue type in through radius. All our simple queues are created by radius with a default queue type being small. Changing the buffer on a 768K/256K connection did not seem to hurt the connection at all. We have s...

Re: Simpel Queues

I just want to make sure I understand correctly. If you disable simple queues you can get 38M to customers but soon as you enable them you only get 20M. This was the issue we were seeing and I want to make sure I am trying to help with the same problem. Also for testing purposes, you can try using a...

Re: Simpel Queues

There is 2 options for changing this. 1. Change your simple queue under the advanced tab. There is a section in there called QueueType. By default this is set to default-small. Change the upload and download to ethernet-default. /queue simple set numbers=0 queue=ethernet-default 2. Change the pfifo ...

Re: Simpel Queues

I just learned that if you change your Queue Type to ethernet-default that this would take care of you speed limits in the simple queue. We have done this in our test lap and so far has worked. We will be putting in our network tomorrow for live testing. set queue=ethernet-default/ethernet-default b...

Re: Simpel Queues

Here is a post in another forum set queue=ethernet-default/ethernet-default by default is sets queue=default-small/default-small which is too inaccurate with greater speeds We have tried this and this has fixed our simple queue speedtest in our test lap. We will by trying this on our network tomorro...

Thank you very much, We have tested the ethernet-default and so far it seems to be working. We just need to get this setup in the network now. But works in test lap.

Re: Simpel Queues

We are having issues with simple queues only when the traffic is over 10M. We have thousands of customers using simple queues under 5M plans and they all works perfect. If we setup a customer for a 30M download and 5M upload. The customer can only do 1 concurrent connection at 17M and get there full...

Re: Block WAN Ping Response

You would need to create some firewall rules with the chain of input. Here is example /ip firewall filter add chain=input protocol=icmp action=drop in-interface=WAN This would drop all ICMP traffic coming in your WAN interface. I would highly recommend putting in your input rules for what you want t...

Ethernet Link Drops

We have a wireless network setup. The network works perfect for most sites. We have a few sites that have issues though with the Ethernet link dropping. We are using RB493 as a local router on sites and RB435 for the AP's. The wireless link is always staying up and running and we have no issues with...

Re: VERY big difference in CPUs usage on RB1100AHx2

Something else to consider is to move your uplink port off ether 13. I have seen this on all RB1100 series routers I have used. Ethers 11,12,13 have higher ping times the ports 1-10. Now the pings only spike up to 15ms but when in any other ports the pings are 1ms consistent. Just noticed what port ...

Re: One Customer One BW Level Multiple Locations

I use simple queue's to limit inter network traffic for VPN's frequently for my customers. You should be able to put in a simple queue with office A's IP address and speed. This would then limit office B and C to to talk to office A to the speed you have selected. But have a few questions if this is...

Re: MetaRouter and 1100AH on ROS 5.8 not working?

I just bought some RB1100AH and running into this issue. Anyone know if this is fixed yet. I have RB1100 series running 7 customers with MetaRouters and working great but at its limits for metarouters due to memory. I wanted to upgrade to the AH and have a little more overhead since we just doubled ...

No IP Traffic

I have 493 routers running v5.7 firmware. They are working great most of the time but every so often they will drop all IP traffic. I can Mac telnet into them but unable to ping them on any address. This is even to devices directly connected to it. The log shows this each time. 11:46:48 interface,in...

I had this polling every 30 Seconds. I have changes this to 5 Minutes. Will see what it does. Thank you very much.

We are running version 4 beta also with the file around 150Meg.

Re: Need help on networking with RB1100/RB411AH

I have never setup the hotspot but I know there is settings to do so. But I have a good recommendation for the RB1100 for the Ethernet jacks at least. I would setup a METARouter for each of there ports. I have done this with a building where we have 7 businesses in one building. In the RB1100 I setu...

If this does not work then I would say needs replaced but its worth a try. This process is not qu...

We have 5.6 setup on around 50 of our Tower routers and not going to try and count the BH's we have this running on. So far the 5.6 seems to be working good. RB 493ah 10Meg Rates

I have found an issue with RB 493 using a 10Meg device with it when setting up its port as a slave port. I setup a RB 493 and have internet connection on port 1 of the router. Ports 2 is the master port and ports 3-9 are slave to port 2. When I plug in just my 100M devices I am able to do a bandwidt...

Actually found problem, I was using WPA for security on it. Once security was turned off the N rates started working. Does anyone know if they are working on a fix for this. WEP seems to work but any time WPA is on the link will just drop.

Unable to Us N Rates

We have just installed a new wireless link. We have several of these links up and running in other locations with no problems. We have same setup for all of them. We are just starting to use Mikrotik and have noticed that when we setup equipment in G only mode it still uses the B rates for data. Re: lost connection, extensive data loss

If we put in a StarOS at the same location it works perfectly. The signals for Mirkotiks having the issues are around a -70 db for 2.4. With the StarOS we set out limit to a -75 for client side signal. AP's signal for these customers are normally around a -74 if they have a -70 on client. All the co...

We are switching from StarOS over to Mikrotik. Currently on our StarOS ap's the Mirkotik 411 seems to be working great for most users.
