Well, I have isolated the problem - RouterOS 7 is not accepting CA certificates with nameConstraints property, if this property is marked as critical . Hello, I have been still using RouterOS 6 on important routers. I am using my own root CA (imported on all computers and devices in organization) and some intermediary CAs without any issues in RouterOS 6. It seems like

I think there is a small bug here - that command is working only if user-led is defined. So I must use

Would it be more effective to use external Gbit switch instead? Yes, it would be, but it depends on what are you using the router for. According information on http://routerboard.com/RB493G RB493G should handle bridging at 1 Gbps. But it will use CPU and other performance may be limited at the same...

No offense, but your configuration seems to be messy in my eyes: You have assigned IP 192.168.88.1 to multiple interfaces - wlan1, ether2, ether3, ether4, ether5 are parts of bridge-local, so you should assign it only to just one interface (bridge-local in this case) and not for each port. Is it possible to get unicast packet from one interface and forward it as broadcast to other interface? Something like dst-nat to 255.255.255.255 :) I know it sounds strange, but I'm just asking. In fact, I would like to "transform" incoming unicast UDP stream from internet as multicast to...

Re: Problem with RB250GS and IPTV (Telus Optik/MS Mediaroom)

I'm wondering then if the issue is broadcasting the multicast traffic out to each port (and me not needing it to go to ports 3 through 5). RB250GS doesn't support IGMP Snooping - it means that multicasting is handled like broadcasting. I think your IPTV has it's own IP address, so you can make ACL ...

Feature list to be implemented in future releases:
  • IGMP Snooping
  • Add description/name for ports
What about these features? When will the new version come? There is a multicasting HD video streaming available here on academic networks, so IGMP Snooping is necessary.

add action=drop chain=input comment="" disabled=no protocol=igmp
Not bad idea to use protocol=igmp, but the problem remains: interfaces with enabled PIM/IGMP are still receiving packets - it seems like PIM (from package multicast) is working before the firewall filter rules are applied?

Re: Dude NPK package for RB1200

OK, thanks, I will try v4beta1. Don't install Dude v4beta1 package to RB1200! I've tried that remotely (now in the evening, office was empty) and I lost connection. I had to run there to see, what's wrong. I found RB1200 with no lights on ethernet ports, only power led was on. I was happy when afte...

Re: Problem upgrading bootloader

I've rebooted once more just for sure - and firmware is still 2.36, so it really works for me. Perhaps you may try to use "downgrade" instead of reboot. I never use System - Reboot, because WinBox "forget" my open windows. I use System - Packages - Downgrade all the time.

Re: Dude v4beta3 and RB250GS

Do you have the latest SwOS version on your RB250GS (1.6)? Yes, I do. If I "open" the switch in Dude and watch SNMP, ports are randomly disappearing and appearing. Only graphs seem to work fine. I found another topic about this: http://forum.mikrotik.com/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=53154 It ...

Re: RouterOS v5.7 released

I upgraded my new RB750GL to v5.7 and it seems less stable now :( . Where can I download the old version? I think it was shipped with RouterOS V.5.2. What do you mean by "less stable"? Here are links for elder versions: http://download.mikrotik.com/routeros-mipsbe-5.2.npk http://download....

Re: Dude NPK package for RB1200

Just like it says, PowerPC CPU devices are not supported yet. This includes RB1200
Neither old v4beta1? I am confused because on download page is link to v4beta1 which is not working. It says only that v4beta3 is not working and nothing about beta2 and beta1.

Re: Dude NPK package for RB1200

I've installed v4beta3 and it really does not work - RB1200 is not "hearing" on ports 2210 and 2211. Perhaps I will try v4beta2 later, but I don't expect it will work.

Re: RouterBoard 1200

I've installed Dude package (which is not working, but it doesn't matter now: http://forum.mikrotik.com/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=55090 ) and now I have less than 7 MB free on disk  I use User Manager as well. Is it possible to see how much space is taken by each store? Maybe it would be better...

Re: Problem upgrading bootloader

What are you talking about? You virtually never need to download a firmware file. New firmware gets distributed with RouterOS upgrades. See this link: http://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/Manual:Bootloader_upgrade I'm talking about this: Second method If for some reason routerboard.npk package is not, and...

Re: Problem upgrading bootloader

I'm pretty sure that is misinformation, since my RB750G is working just fine with the latest 5.7 and boot loader 2.36. Well, I like to hear that it is possible to use newer firmware, but I think it's risky. Could somebody of Mikrotik's staff confirm if it is safe to use AR7240 firmware for AR7161 u...

Dude v4beta3 and RB250GS

I started to use Dude now. I have added all my Mikrotik routers to Dude and they are reporting data using RouterOS and SNMP well. I've also added RB250GS switch with SNMP and it is not working well - link says either "Rx: 0, Tx: 0" or a strange report: "Rx: [Interface, InBitRate], Tx:...

Dude NPK package for RB1200

I'd like to use RB1200 as remote agent for my Dude, but there is no working download link on Dude's download page. I've founded NPK package v4beta3 ( http://download.mikrotik.com/dude/4.0beta3/dude-4.0beta3-ppc.npk ), but download page says: "Note: v4beta3 PPC package is currently not working&q...

Re: Undocumented reboot feature?

That's because button is not working (I don't know why) and /reboot calls a reset command directly (that should be done by button). It is not "doing something" - it is writing some non-sense in browser, because /reboot is not legitimate webpage, but it seems to be some server-side AJAX rel...

Re: Problem upgrading bootloader

And what file did you save to RB750G before upgrade? There is no firmware on http://routerboard.com/RB750G ! I think that's because RB750G is "unsupported" now :( Don't use firmware from RB750 nor RB750GL, they have other CPU (AR7240). AFAIK there is no newer firmware for AR7161 CPU on the...

Re: RouterOS v5.7 released

I noticed that after the upgrade my l2mtu is now 1520 rather than 1524 as previously documented. Not a serious issue for me, but it seems like it might be for folks who've tuned their MTUs on other gear to match the old values. Any particular reason for the change? Maybe it may have something commo...

Re: Swos 1.6 , more pauses

I think it means that it is going more traffic to this port than it can handle - it is overloaded. That can happen when incoming packets from more than one port are outgoing to this port. So incoming data rate is bigger than 1 Gbps and outgoing is only 1 Gbps. It is nothing to worry about.

Try command /store print - you should see store of type "user-manager" with status "active". Try to check if package is enabled: /system package print - you should see "user-manager" without flag X and without any "scheduled" remark. At last you can check if U...

I think 64 MiB of data storage (disk) should be enough - but I don't know how many data uses each User Manager's user account in database. But there is other thing: I don't know why, but RB1200 that I've bought in July has 1 GiB of RAM. Actually it seems that dealers are selling 512 MiB version and ...

Re: SwOS Web Interface Error

It is still working for me, I don't understand why is it different for you. Maybe it has nothing to do with configuration and there is a problem caused by something special on your network (don't know what, maybe something is generating a lot of false MAC addresses sometimes or something like that)
