Re: Many PSU failures in CCR1036

Do you have any other equipment from Mikrotik (ie, another CCR1036 or something else similar) ? Can you establish a pattern regarding PSUs dropping dead from all CCRs from Mikrotik ? Do you have replacement router, once that 1036 drops dead ? I surely would have one, considering it failing once a ye...

This update is full of bugs, I have to reset hAP Lite every 2 hours to reach normal speed.
How the hell did you update hAP Lite ? I'm missing few kilobytes to be able to squeeze in ROS and wirless package.

I still cannot ugrade hAP Lite from 7.13 to 7.14 (7.6MiB required, 7.5MiB free, although it's only few kilobytes that are actually missing).
Manual upgrade also won't pass, missing those few kb to upload wireless package.

Re: Trunking Cube Pro [SOLVED]

As far as I know, when Mikrotiks are configured as PtP bridge you don't need to worry about VLANs going through. Their role is to pass all traffic and let other devices worry about VLANs and trunking. And of course, you can set their IP addresses to VLAN 100 range. Other story would be if you need t...

Upgraded two LHG XL52 ac (PtP setup), settings were intact, no issue with signal (-42), devices register themselves on one another (both 2GHz and 5GHz), but can't see other LHG via Winbox.
Any clues ?

Why do I need to turn "Forced On" on Ominitk 5 PoE ac, to be able to power Hikvision camera ? Auto ON simply doesn't work.

Re: v6.46.3 [stable] is released!

When trying to update my RB3011, I get "kernel failure in previous boot" in log, and it didn't update.
Same thing happened when going from 6.46.1 to 6.46.2. Eventually succeeded in update but it took some tries.
And this never happened before.

Re: Help setting up my private/public network

Just to clarify further: - if SSID name is, for example, "Internet access", both 5GHz and 2.4GHz SSIDs will be called like that, correct (I won't call them "Internet access 2.4" and "Internet access 5") ? - furthermore, if private SSID name is "Private access"...

Re: Help setting up my private/public network

Thanks m8, I'll have some more questions later on. Now, onto topic about 2.4/5GHz, same SSID and device roaming: As I said, my area is not wi-fi polluted and I can use 2.4GHz frequency without interference from other networks. Since I'm in process of buying most of those APs that are in my diagram, ...

Re: Help setting up my private/public network

Thanks for the quick reply ZeroByte ! It looks like a solid design to me. I would definitely recommend keeping the guest network as a separate VLAN from the standard LAN. Policy is one of the main reasons to create a separate subnet. If you try to do everything in a single flat network, then you're ...

Help setting up my private/public network

Greetings ! Finally I decided to make some order into my two networks and to see what can I do to make better single network out of current two. Currently I have mixture of Mikrotik and consumer-grade equipment spread on two networks (one private and one public) but I would like to migrate fully to ...

Re: SXTG-2HnD dead ? (2 LEDs blinking constantly)

Power adapter is reseting. Needs replace.

When I tried PoE injector from another SXT, I've tried with it's own power adapter (another power adapter).

Re: SXTG-2HnD dead ? (2 LEDs blinking constantly)

Have you tried another POE? another cable?

Tried PoE injector from another SXT, same thing, LEDs blinking. Tried this PoE injector on another SXT and it's working. Therefore, PoE injector is working fine.
Tried different LAN cables too, same thing happening.

SXTG-2HnD dead ? (2 LEDs blinking constantly)

Greetings ! One of two SXT's that I have (the one working as CPE) suddenly stopped working (suddenly, as nothing has been tampered on it). When I opened trapdoors I saw USER LED and POWER LED blinking simultaneously. Furthermore, power LED on PoE injector is blinking in same "rythm" as tho...

Re: Limiting speed/traffic with queues but EXCLUDE certain MAC addresses from rules

Anyone ? BTW, found that I can exclude my mac address from limits via mangle but I'm uncertain whats is the best setup for that (details). Is there some kind of tutorial for this ? And, still haven't figured out is there a possibility to limit daily traffic for each mac address that connects (for ex...

Limiting speed/traffic with queues but EXCLUDE certain MAC addresses from rules

Re: 2 x SXTG 2HnD point to point - need advice for better link

Cybertod, thanks a lot for your help ! I was about to give up but then I raised one station 1 meter higher and got a very good link (24 hours now without drop). I'll experiment with height (and with settings) a bit more to get even better signal but it's great as is it now. http://www.dodaj.rs/t/31/...

Re: 2 x SXTG 2HnD point to point - need advice for better link

Croatia is the same as in every other EU country.

But for the sake of testing, please tell me what setting to use to get highest transmit power possible.

Thank you once more

2 x SXTG 2HnD point to point - need advice for better link

Re: Hotspot implementation with 2 APs - total beginner

Glad that you got it working. They are really nice little routers. 1.) I'd have to see your hotspot configuration to say for sure, but where did you define the limit? You'll want to have defined it under 'user profile'. If that's where you have it, I would try assigning it to the radius profile (I'...

Re: Hotspot implementation with 2 APs - total beginner

Hi ! Apologies for not replying sooner but had lot of work and stoped working on Mikrotik. :) Anyway, thank you Fewi and Feklar for your help, I've managed to get it up and running. I really appreciate it very much. It seems I was making an error from step one when I was leaving some of the default ...

Re: Hotspot implementation with 2 APs - total beginner

I thank you for wide and detailed answer. If it's really an access point and not a router, then it's a layer 2 device. Yes the MikroTik will be able to hand out DHCP over an access point. If you actually have routers, some of them will have an AP mode, or you can "trick" it into acting lik...

Re: Hotspot implementation with 2 APs - total beginner

Mangement IPs shouldn't be assigned via DHCP. But if I set DHCP off on APs, how and will RB750 assign IP addresses to clients connected on certain AP ? I mean, is it possible for RB to assign dynamic IP if there's AP between him and client ? I apologize if I ask stupid question but I'm totally unce...

Re: Hotspot implementation with 2 APs - total beginner

You might be right. Only thing I need is basically a healthy start, nothing else. Well, here is my prioritiy, I'll rephrase my first question: Hardware: - RB750G connected to DSL modem - Airlive WL-5460AP v2 (connected to RB via LAN) - D-Link DWL-2000AP+ (connected to RB via LAN) What is needed: - H...
