Feature Request: Add support for rfc 3925

Can the dev's please look at adding support for option 60 in the dhcp client module of RouterOS The description for this is over here http://www.ietf.org/rfc/rfc3925.txt Some ISP's allow and/or require sending the DHCP request with at least Option 60 specified and also possibly Option 61 before givi...

Re: DHCP client option 60

I'm also in the same boat here, I'm in a ftth area in Australia and my ISP allows either IPoE or PPPoE but I would rather use IPoE if possible. If I can get a cheap DLink to do it why not a proper router like Mikrotik? e.g http://files.dlink.com.au/Products/DSL-2642B/Manuals/DSL-2642B_D2_Manual_v1.0...

Re: IPoE and Mikrotik?

Bugger so not possible on Mikrotik then as I need to specify the vendor class (option 60) in my dhcp request to get an IP

Re: IPoE and Mikrotik?

Do you really think IPoE is something new and special? Come on! IPoE stands for IP over Ethernet- just an ordinary 30-year old way to carry IP traffic over the Ethernet? Supported by all vendors out of the box without exceptions. Do you expect someone here to explain you the basics? No I don't thin...

Re: IPoE and Mikrotik?

Really? no-one knows?

Maybe this is too new for the Mikrotik?
A lot of consumer home routers and cisco support it

IPoE and Mikrotik?

Does Mikrotik support IPoE?

If it does how do I configure for this, my ISP allows PPPoE and IPoE but I am unsure how to do this on RouterOS.

From what I can find it involves using dhcp option 60 in the dhcp request. Is this even possible on MT?

Anyone know?

Re: MUM in Australia. Would you come?

@Normis, I'm in Perth Australia and although I would love to attend the Brisbane MUM I doubt I will be able to make it(opposite side of the Country).
Are there any online courses I can do for the MTCNA?

Bridge two networks using mlppp pptp and bcp bridging

Has anyone else had issues in version 5RC5-10 getting BCP bridging with mlppp(mrru 1600-65535) working with an underlying pptp tunnel. I get it to connect though cant send full packets through i.e. 1500 ping x.x.x.x -l 1460 -f and the packet just goes missing? I can get this to work when I use sstp ...

Re: support for AR9271 in RC2

I have a TP-Link AR9271 based USB Wi-Fi card plugged in and it doesn't show in interfaces?
Can see it in resources though?

Re: RB1100 Hardware Shortage in Australia?

Yeah Mike's quite good, have spoken to him a few times. He even put up an article when I worked out how to setup NextG 850Mhz properly on his Duxcell product with the sierra 3G modem :)
What was the specific hardware you were talking to him about?

Re: RB1100 Hardware Shortage in Australia?

yeah we are looking to get some of the axiomtek units which we can also use for untangle web filtering, the problem is the delay that all of this creates when you have to go in search of new suitable products that are reasonable priced, look good and can do the required job.

Re: RB1100 Hardware Shortage in Australia?

Thanks for the update Normis, I think that the price point is what has driven demand. If you consider that customers were paying AUD$1000 for Snapgear and similar the RB1100 for AUD$550-650 seems like a bargain and indeed it is. As much as the smaller routers in your range are quite powerful for the...

Re: RB1100 Hardware Shortage in Australia?

I'm actually looking at http://www.axiomtek.com.tw/products/ViewProduct.asp?view=825 Will be more expensive though probably not an issue in this category as I would rather just have something to offer the client. Quite embarrassing when you talk a product up to a client and then can't deliver though...
