Now mikrotik router has two default routes. Now I want to route one /17 via cisco1 and another /17 via cisco2. In addition...

Re: iBGP case

Dear vk7zms,

you talk only about failover, I am in need of load balancing with failover via BGP.

iBGP case

My mikrotik router is learning two default routes from two cisco routers via iBGP. My ip prefix x/16 is divided into two subnets, say x1/17 & x2/17. I have announced x/16 & x1/17 via provider1 and x/16 & x2/17 via provider2 via eBGP with providers. This way I have maintained load balancing & failove...

BGP Load Balancing

I am trying to do load balancing in Mikrotik using BGP. The scenario is my 450G router has 2 default routes received from 2 different ISPs. At a time only one route is active and all traffic goes through that link. Is there any way two mark certain prefixes and route through another link using BGP? ...

Re: BGP Failover

It works in that way, but as per the BGP standard, you know path prepend is used to influence incoming traffic and Local Preference is used to influence outgoing traffic. Why Mikrotik is not following this standard?

Re: BGP Failover

The route with the high local preference value is preferred and becomes active as seen in ip route table. I am seeing this and this is ok. but when I trace from my pc or from the 450G with src-address=192.168.1.1 (which is an IP in 450G and gateway to my PC) it is going through other link, not throu...

I face a problem in BGP in Mikrotik. RouterBoard 1100 is connected to the internet. 450G is receving two default routes from 1100 and ...
