MacOS Catalina, iOS, Catalyst, SwiftUI & Wine

I almost accidentally upgraded to MacOS Catalina, which would have hosed my Wineskin'd Winbox. Now that there's an iOS app it seems that a native MacOS app shouldn't be far behind. If nothing else at least a Catalyst iOS port would be enough to do the basics, even if it doesn't have all the features...

Here's a comparison- Retina on the Left, Pixel Doubled on the right

Re: Winbox in Wine RetinaMode=y

Thank you Normis, but you misunderstand- that is not Retina, that is Pixel Doubled. I'd like to see if it's not too much work to have text rendered at the native retina resolution rather than rendering at quarter resolution.

Re: Winbox in Wine RetinaMode=y

The issue seems to be that changing this setting: 96dpi.png Only scales text in Winbox but not other UI elements, not even the row height that contains the text. Here's an example with retina mode off and DPI set to 192dpi instead of the default 96dpi: 192dpi.png I suspect this behaves the same in W...

Winbox in Wine RetinaMode=y

I just upgraded to Wine 2.0. It has HiDPI or Retina support. I installed via brew install wine and then enabled Retina mode using /usr/local/bin/regedit and adding the key and string HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/Wine/Mac Driver/RetinaMode with the value y Starting /usr/local/bin/winecfg confirms that ...

Re: LCD Interface: Max Speed?

Open a terminal and type lcd interface print to list your interfaces then use lcd interface set "your-interface-name" max-speed=2.4Mbps Of course replacing your-interface-name and 2.4Mbps with your values. It appears that it will validate n.nMbps, Kbps, bps without any problems. You can verify that ...

LCD Interface: Max Speed?

I didn't see any documentation for the LCD Interface Max Speed setting in RouterOS 6.19: Screen Shot 2014-11-04 at 10.06.48.png No matter what I set it to [4M, 4Mbps, 400 kbps, 400bps, 4, 400, 4000000] it always says "Error in Max Speed- bitrate expected!". I assumed that it would set the vertical s...

Re: RB450G Voltage Reads 2.6V Low

The 450G is on a low voltage cutoff on the battery side of a tycon 24V charger regulator. I just wanted a way to monitor battery voltage remotely and I have a spare 450G. It's kind of pointless to advertise voltage monitoring if the error in the reading is nearly the same order as the voltage readin...

RB450G Voltage Reads 2.6V Low

I didn't expect the volt meter on my RB450G to be fantastic but I was shocked to find it reading nearly 3V lower than my Fluke, tested at the RB's power jack while it was running. Is there any way to calibrate this thing to a known voltage? It's on a battery system and I'd at least like the running ...

Re: Which SFP in a RB2011 to this Media Converter?

So if I stick a S-31DLC20D in there is there a cheap media converter I can try to convince my provider to use in their tower?

Ideally avoiding a media converter with an SFP slot.

Which SFP in a RB2011 to this Media Converter?

I have a RB2011 in Northern Mozambique that I need to connect to a fiber optic line. It's a Single Mode 1310nm cable that that terminates on our side with an FC connector. I have SC and LC patch cables on hand. On the remote end our ISP, a local cell company, uses cheap media converters. Here's two ...

The media converter on the other end is some generic thing: Shenzhen bc-optics co. BC-100DSO13-20

If the MikroTik doesn't support 155M I'll use this SFP Module:

Re: RB850Gx2 Network interface details

Still looking for a complete all in one tower router.

RB850Gx2 seems like a good platform to build on. It just needs an SFP port and PoE out on at least 4 ports.

Then just add a 24V UPS and we're off to the races.

Does S-31DLC20D support 155M

I have a 1310nm single mode fiber connected to a 155M media converter on the telco side.

They have provided a 155M fiber-ethernet media converter but I'd like to terminate directly to the SFP port on my RB2011. Is the S-31DLC20D compatible with the 155M rate signal?

Thanks

Upgrade Hangs after Roboot

I have an RB450G that seems to always hang after I ftp upgrade packages to it and reboot. I think it will upgrade properly but I'm 18,000km away this time and I think it needs to be power cycled. This has happened before when I upgraded to 5.16 but I was on site. What's up? Does this happen to other...

It's easy enough to fire up a Linux box with freeradius but this is such a resource-unintensive service it would be fantastic if it could be handled directly on MikroTik. I know there's doesn't-support-EAP usermanager but lots of us support lots of types and brands of APs in many scenarios that bene...

Re: how to block https://www.facebook.com

I think MicroTik needs to come up with a novel solution for blocking access to particular domains. RegEx on L7 feels like such a hack and manually maintaining IP lists is impossible these days, not to mention issues with v hosts. It seems like we have the DNS requests, we have a transparent DNS prox...

Re: Automatic RoS reboot at a specifit time

Since it's random it seems like it would make more sense to use a ping watchdog to reboot the device only when it loses it's connection. It also means the client doesn't need to wait until the scheduled reset if the modem goes down much before 0:00.

Re: Post Deleted

Thanks for the reply. Ubiquiti radios can use RADIUS for WPA2-AES EAP (At least their M radios on 5.2.1+). I've come to believe that User Manager can't do EAP, although the Wiki Docs aren't totally clear.

I think I'll wait a bit for RouterOS 5 to get cleaned up a bit before trying again.

Re: Web server on mikrotik

What's up with all the "don't do that"s? Plus there's plenty of good applications, ...
