This is a real deal breaker for this unit. I can't believe this can't be changed due to a hardware restriction.

I had similar problems with rb750
disabling ntp client seems to have resolved the problem. could it be that there is a bug in ntp client causing high cpu usage and consequent reboots?

if this simple problem cannot be solved with a switch than I would suggest you change the hw or drop the whole product.
