Re: RouterOS Virtual Labs

I'm trying to get CHR working on EVE-NG and it works but the interfaces dont seem to line up. I will put 192.168.1.1/24 on R1:ether1 and 192.168.1.2/24 on R2:ether1. I will make a connection from R1:ether1 and R2:ether1. I will then try to ping 192.168.1.2 from R1 with no success. I will move the IP...

CRS VLAN Dynamic Question

I'm running into a problem where my CRS switch is funneling my traffic in ether1, ether2, and ether5 into VLAN 4095 dynamically and not the VLAN I setup (VLAN 1044). I have ether1 and ether2 a slave of ether5 and ether1,2,and 5 are all tagged and members of vlan 1044. For some reason though ether1,2...

Re: redundant path advice needed - gns3 diagrams included

I created a netwatch to ping the IP address of the ISP. When down, it disables the LAN ports, when UP, it enables the LAN ports. The ISP itself is using vrrp so this is really for physical failure.

redundant path advice needed - gns3 diagrams included

I'm setting up a redundant solution and I'm looking the best path forward. I'm using vrrp and no routing protocols, just a default route to our ISP. I start a ping from 192.168.50.10 to X.Y.207.4 and its working great flowing in the below path. https://78ropq.bn1304.livefilestore.com/y3m6nVCybESD48R...

CRS112-8G-4S-IN turns on with all SFP lights on solid, is it dead?

Was in the process of configuring a CRS112 and it just froze. All the SFP lights on are, the USR light is solid too. I also get no output from a console session. I tried a pinhole reset with no luck.

Any other thoughts?

Thanks,

Is a 260GS backup config file board specific?

If for some reason the unit dies and I replace it, can I upload the old unit's config file to restore settings or is it like R.OS and Routerboard where a backup is specific to a particular piece of hardware.

Thank you,

I solved the question for anyone who sees this in the future.

GUI: on a CRS based device Switch >> FDBs >> Unicast FDBs and then you can filter from there if you need to.

CLI: /interface ethernet switch unicast-fdb print where vlan-id="<VLANID>"

Can you view learned MAC addresses passed through the switch chip?

Is it possible to view a list of mac addresses being learned on a port on a CRS112? As a service provider we often will verify that a customers service is up if the port is up and we are learning mac addresses from the port. Having said that we are configuring these CRS devices to switch traffic wit...

RouterOS forwards everything no matter if it is ipsec or any other kind of traffic unless you have firewall rules set to drop something.
