Re: ARM devices and NV2 protocol

Re: Capsman question

Yes cAPs do support redundant setups. Simply configure a second CAPsMAN exactly as the primary then in your cAPs, add the IP or name of the redundant CAPsMAN under the primary. Any changes to primary CAPsMAN have to be manually duplicated in redundant CAPsMAN.
Big thanks for that!

I have now tested active backup bonding with vlans, works perfect.
A vlan trunk with at least 10 vlans operates perfect, if the active interface fails, the active backup takes over within seconds during heavy load.

What happens if you dont connect the public IP (WANIP) to the bridge.
Its not on my bridge and my setup works great with many vlans.
Probably because I am using routerOS and not some switch specific OS??
I tried that to, no traffic comes in/out from ether2.

Re: CRS125 do I dare to upgrade from 6.37.4 to 6.41+ ?

I would upgrade to 6.40.8 (latest bugfix) before upgrading to new bridge. You can always contact MT support and check from which version to new version is best. You have a better bet at upgrading from latest bugfix to latest current. At least my guess is so. As you current version contains some nas...

Re: CRS125 do I dare to upgrade from 6.37.4 to 6.41+ ?

The upgrade made a mess of mine, but I knew it was going to as I had multiple bridges and VLANs. Make sure your console cable works before you start! And definitely do them off-line. Okey, then I have to make a solid migration plan, bringing out one device at a time. CRS console is the cisco style,...

I can't say anything about upgrade process on CRS125 as I don't have any. I did upgrade on RB951 which has switch chip as well and I had VLANs defined "in old way". The upgrade from 6.40 to 6.41 went smooth for me. I guess success depends on how device is configured and if it's configured according...

Problem was solved, we did investigate further, it was a human mistake after all, we did by mistake disable ether1 on CRS switch during changes in the CCR where we disabled ether1. That explains why there was no link down.

If you're confident the link will never drop to very low speeds, you can disable the lower data rates so that it only ever "starts" at something reasonable.
