Is there some more detail on this bit?:

does it include change to AU regulatory domain to allow radar-detect to be disabled?

So we assumed the higher power level advertised (30dBm / 1000mW) Don't forget that AU L.I.P.D regulations allow maximum EIRP of just 1W (30dBm) so if your antenna is anything more than 3dBi, then you'll need to turn the radio tx DOWN lower than the maximum 27dBm anyhow! ;) Also, check the metal9 tx...

Hi David,

don't forget that voltage drop across a cable length always depends on current flow too - so if one of the groove devices is drawing more current than the other, voltage reading at the detection point will be different!

The extension rif is not allowed.
you can just change the filename to ._if, or .txt or something else perhaps?

so lets get this straight: if you disable the mangle rule you show above, then msn works. when you enable it, doesn't work.

is that essentially right?

OK, have you got NAT rules set up for each outbound interface? Each one probably need a src-nat or masquerade to make sure that the source address of outbound packets matches the interface that it is transmitted on.

It may also be easier if you can just attach your supout.rif

Re: hotspot redirect still a problem?

Hi Folks, just putting in my 2c worth. I'm back here again with a RB/433 with v3.13 on the bench behaving badly. Just to clarify, we have hotspot enabled, the login page is set to redirect to a remote splash page allowed through walled garden. The unauthenticated client successfuly gets the local lo...

Re: hotspot redirect blocked by mt proxy

oh! just one minor step!? you are right, of course, I did mis-read that post. Our latest batch of rb433 came with 3.4 which was terribly buggy, and upgrade to 3.10 fixed much of that. I didn't even think to try to go back to 3.9 ;-) Thanks, I must give that a shot (so long as I can lay my hands on a...

Re: hotspot redirect blocked by mt proxy

I find the easiest way to fix the lockup you have mentioned is to just downgrade or updgrade 1 version. I've been switching between 3.10 and 3.9 for the moment each time the issue occurs (as you noted a simple reboot won't fix this) That is all very well in most cases, but all of our current sites ...

Re: hotspot redirect blocked by mt proxy

Hi Folks, we saw this problem recently with rOS3.10 and found a work around with assistance of MT suppt is to use a fully qualified hostname as the login host. under ip->hotspot->profile->hsprof1 we had dns-name = "login.hotspot" changing this to dns-name="login.hotspot.com.au" f...

Re: Limitting bandwith after download limit is reach - How to?

Hi,

you need to use a radius server to do this, else subscribe to some admin application service like this one: http://www.viewbankrise.net.au/webministrator.htm

Cheers.

Re: dynamic WDS triplet - link association flapping

Hello JR, thanks for your reply! the reason that I hope to avoid static WDS is because for this particular application, I will have no foreknowledge of the physical layout of devices prior to shipping. There is also not necessarily any way to know even what mac addresses may exist in the general are...

Re: dynamic WDS triplet - link association flapping

Hi Tony, thanks for your reply. the wireless interfaces are virtually default setup. 'why' do you think it is not a good idea? I have thought about this a fair bit (without actually attempting to implement any of it yet! ;-) and the only downside that I can think of is potentially causing an issue i...

dynamic WDS triplet - link association flapping

Hello All, Scenario: One wds AP master (RB532) two wds slaves (RB112), all same SSID, all wds enabled dynamic. Topology: All three devices are able to detect each other (not equal signal strength though - i.e. one wds slave is -72 to the AP, -60 at the other WDS slave) Problem: When the master and a...

Just wondering if it is possible to have a dhcp assigned ip address *and* a static ip address on the same (ethernet) interface?

Thanks in advance, Mike.

OK, thanks for the response. And this polling prevents or controls colissions (ie Hidden node issues)?

N+streme manages hidden node problem?

Hello folks,

I have been reading up on the routerOS 'N-Streme' protocol but still not quite certain about the intent and/or capabilities.

Can someone confirm if i am correct to assume that n-streme 'client polling' is some kind of token management system?

Thanks & regards, Mike.

Oh, I seem to have jumped the gun a bit - my tests have indicated that the 'max-limit' does indeed set some fairly strict limits on the throughput data rate. Even so, the 'rate-limit' setting that is documented for PPP connections has more flexibility. Are there any plans to implement Rate-Limit for...

Radius Rate-Limit for hostpot service?

Hello all,

I want to rate limit hotspot users but Ascend-Data-Rate apparently only sets "Max-Limit" queues.

Is there some way i can also set "Limit-At" to define a more strict rate for connected users?

Thanks & regards, Mike.

OK!

I swapped out that netgear 54g card for an older 11b, and now it all works fine again.

I assume that there was some driver problem with that card - it loaded up as atheros, but i suppose it was no good.
