Re: Cloud Hosted Router

Got it running on our XenServer 6.5 environment (CHR 6.34rc41)
What is the trick to get it running in XenServer? All of us are stuck with the dreaded "Booting kernel failed: Invalid argument" message.

Heartbleed vulnerability OpenSSL [RouterOS IS NOT affected]

Does anybody know if RouterOS is affected by the Heartbleed vulnerability in OpenSSL and if so when it will be patched?

I presume that RouterOS uses OpenSSL for its encryption in for example SSTP VPN.

Re: 6rd support?

I can confirm that: 1. 6rd support on a static IP address works fine if you get the settings all correct. 2. 6rd support with dynamic IP addressing can be fully implemented within a Mikrotik script. This is an incomplete yet functional script to configure a 6rd tunnel up on the Australian ISP iiNet....

Re: 6rd support?

+1 for 6RD Support. I believe that if you have a fixed IPv4 address then you should be able to set up a static IPv6 configuration on a Mikrotik router that will work fine. However if you have a dynamic IPv4 address, then the IPv6 address configuration will change each time your IP address changes, a...

Re: OmniTik UPA: Observations & Issues

I had the same problem originally with my new Omnitik UPA, with PoE out not working at all, despite rebooting.

As the OP suggested, upgrading the RouterBoard firmware to 2.38 fixes the PoE out issue, and it's now powering a Bullet 2HP happily (finally!)

MikroTik: Please Open Source The Dude

In my previous thread, I took a bold move in suggesting that MikroTik was no longer committed to The Dude and had effectively silently abandoned it. With a few days past and a stern silence from MikroTik, I'd like to suggest to MikroTik that they consider Open Sourcing The Dude. Here are three simpl...

Re: The Dude is dead. Move on.

Answer for my last bug report in dude 4.0 beta3 on RB433UAH - 26-04-2012. Thank you very much for the report. We will try to fix both of them. Both problems are actual for Dude intstalled on RouterBOARD. Don't hold your breath, v4b3 was released in March 2011 and hasn't been updated since, as I sai...

The Dude is dead. Move on.

As much as I love The Dude, it's clearly no longer a focus for Mikrotik. While other vendors continue to develop their management and monitoring tools, The Dude is still stuck in Windows land, doesn't work on PPC (>1 year and counting without a fix), and the versions that do work under RouterOS have...

Re: RouterOS 5.7 DHCP not working

I'm glad somebody else has seen the same behaviour! I was beginning to think I was the only one.

For me, rebooting made no difference. It wasn't until I downgraded that it suddenly sprung back to life.

RouterOS 5.7 DHCP not working

During the process of changing a lot of network configuration last weekend, I upgraded from RouterOS 5.6 to 5.7 on an RB1100. On Monday I discovered that DHCP had stopped working. DHCP requests were being seen by the RB1100 interfaces (using Torch), and the RB1100 could see DHCP traffic on the netwo...

DNS regexp entries not being recognised as regexp?

I'm brand new to RouterOS, and I'm trying to set up an x86 install in a VM to replicate my existing (ClearOS) router functionality before I commit to buying an RB1100. I've got up to the point where I'm carrying over my internal host names into the static DNS entries, however RouterOS seems to be bo...
