Re: AWS Wireguard Slow

@Slartybart: As WireGuard relies entirely on ChaCha20, which is a pure software encryption , throughput depends directly on the CPU power, so a slower CPU means slower throughput. For maximum throughput on AWS, consider using IPSec, though be aware that there might be a throughput cap depending on ...

It is very stable with RouterOS v7 but I only use it as a simple AP to provide a guest network, not sure if there's enough RAM to play around with VPNs under v7.

Your company switch most likely works as "802.3 af/at" and provides around 48V. Which is pretty much incompatible with RB260GSP PoE-in requirements.

Re: Marine Modem suitable for mast mounting

Why not Chateau 5G ax? You could use external antennas if needed and you'll have single device for all your Internet access duties.

Re: RB850Gx2 less ram than in spec?

So. How about this? The system uses 32MiB form some hardware or firmware. This leaves the SO with 480MiB. Looking at the pictures, looks like it has 4 memory chips. So, 128MiB each, giving us the 512MiB total. This seems to be true on fully functional hardware running relatively recent version of R...

Re: RB850Gx2 less ram than in spec?

Are we talking about RAM or storage size? We're talking explicitely about RAM. Here's output from one of my 850s: [ksx4system@orion] > sys reso pr uptime: 4h14m59s version: 6.49.13 (long-term) build-time: Apr/04/2024 09:57:52 free-memory: 447.3MiB total-memory: 480.0MiB cpu: e500v2 cpu-count: 2 cpu...

Re: RB850Gx2 less ram than in spec?

Mine shows 480MiB. I've got two of them running 6.49.13 long-term and both of them are showing 480MiB. I was able to find screenshots of of RB850Gx2 on 6.33.3 showing 469.8MiB RAM available so it doesn't always disappear in MiB quantities divisible by two. Maybe it's just a Linux kernel quirk? On a...

forget channels
Channels are not a bad solution, Google uses them for ChromeOS operating system (with versions formatted as major.minor.build.patch). Just read carefully what's on your screen and there should be no issues.

Re: RB 750 Activity LED not showing activity

Is it possible to do a software upgrade (in the future) to make RB750s leds blink on network activity or is it hardware related? If it's the first one - I think there will be many users who will be happier with this feature :)
