In a urban environment with a high-ap system "static frequency" is not the way this will work for longer time. There are to many external ap changing their frequency.

Thanks for respoonse. Problem solved. Band steering (introduced in 7.11) is the problem. disabled it with cli and problems are gone

At the moment my problem is that wifi with wave 2 and CAP AX and HAP AX2 is very unstable. With 7.11 it shows periodically "hardware reset" DFS scanning after this. With 7.12beta1 the resets are gone but wifi is not stable

I define al possible combinations which can be used and then I use specific provision rules based on radio mac. So I decide which channel gets used where. I rarely leave channel selection (even for single access points) to auto. This will only work if there are no other wifi with strong signals bes...

This week we did some testing with wave2. Whet the ap is booted (or disable the wifi-int) it seems to pick a good frequency. So, in a noisy environment we have do do some scripting to reboot the ap at night in a defined order to get some auto-frequency picking.

Now I have ax hardware for 5.000€ on stock and I have a bad feeling to setup this at customer site. :( Seems 7.12beta1 makes this a little bit more stable but I have to reboot ap many time (while playing in the lab) because they don't do the things as I expected.

Sure! I know but why this fragmented packet are shown in the "overall stat" tab of the interface as packets >1519 to max? I think in this stat only the IP-packet-size is relevant.

Hi all,

after updating CCR from 6.20 to 6.30.1 the EOIP tunnel didn't come up. Peer is running on 6.20. Keepalive of 10sec ist set on both.

On CCR Keepalive-retry is set to 3 (after update).

Any idear? Keepalive set to 1 will not work. Going back to 6.20 and everything is ok.

There is nothing in the log. Absolute nothing.
The problem appears absolute at random times. RB1100, RB493AH and I386 are affected.
Some days silence and then it comes again.

Cause I don't know what I should reproduce it is hard to reproduce :)

Yes OSPF is in use. Routes looks good. For example: Interface VLAN 11 is on 10.0.0.42/24 Other router with 10.0.0.30/24 can't ping 10.0.0.42. You are right. Using CCR is something like lottery. From my point of view: The idear of ccr is good but we need + 1 year to see a working Tilera optimized ROS on CCR. We made a lot of money by using mikrotik in the past because we could deliver internet for a good price. Nowadays times have changed....

Hmm. The blocking of the router seem not to bee an CCR issue. I see this here with PC and RB1200 routers. After 2 min they come back. I can log on with winbox . I can ping from the router to the subnet but I can't ping from the subnet to the router.

It could be possible but not in cause of the smoke. The heat upstream could be your problem. If you take a higher frequency in licensed bands you will see that this effect will be much lower.

Maybe there is a problem in protection of the ports.

There was a power supply (24) with only 0.8A for testing at rb. We changed it to the original one. Is it possible that the eth5 is damaged and will pull down every port?

Had no problems before new poe coontroller with ubnt devices. After upgrade to new poe controller nothing works. The leds are flashing if I put any ubiquiti device in it. The device get power and loosing him asap.

I don't see any specification that said 802.11af. This standard is also only for the 48V range.

I had a look on the circuit and I think that you will not able to solve the issue.

With I2C bus the I/O and ADC of the ATtiny461 is more than enough to do a propper per port current measurement and a single POE shutdown per port. Did you made a design failure?

The lab setup is running fine with 4 NSM since 2 days. No burned out NSM5. :) RB750UP is not getting hot.

If we could solve the power-of-on-all-ports-if-one-fails issue this is the solution for micro pops.

How can ns5m work at 28v? 24v is maximum admited and will burn the protection diode. The voltage regulator on the NSM5 is specified to 27V. in the lab everything is working perfect. Something in teh production envirnonment must be wrong.

@mplsguy: l2MTU of the vpls interface should only affect when full frames are sent but not with pings. In that case the packet will never reach the mtu size limit.

Single RB433AH, Bandwidth is with turbo about 60 MBit/s HDX (regarding eirp). But this is only an emergency solution (while I wait for 802.11N) cause we are loosing a lot of spectrum.

Bonding is o.k. when you have only a small count of links at one location. If you have a high count of links you will have problems with the available spectrum ...

RB333 with RC11 (and RC10) is rebooting very often. (1h, 6h or other uptime). Only watchdog and the reboot is keeping the device available. It is no power issue (Checked this). Has anyone the same problem? I have 20pcs of RB333 on stock and I can't put them into production with this issue.

Problems are back since actual beta

After updating to actual beta the problems of unreal outages are here again. I see that a probe is down for example "ping" or "dns". It stays down for hours until I do a manual reprobe. What is wrong?

Hmm, if it is as you say it will be perfect.
Reading some articels in the forum. They said that you will have to create a virtual accesspoint and put this into a bridge within a vlan-ethernet.

Ýou 're shure that the tagged packets travel through the single bridge?

2.9.40 and serious EOIP issue

After upgrading two routers with EOIP over WLAN we saw serious EOIP problems. Things ran good with MT 2.9.17. No configuration change!

We saw that big packets can't travel through the EOIP-tunnel. Only set lower MTU to the incoming eth helps.

There must be a change in the EOIP. :(

Update:

The 32 Byte did only the half job.

My question: If I put a retry value of 5 in the ping probe will the probe then alway ping 5 times or will it ping upon the first response of the device and stop then?

I hope it is no to easy but you can delete a map if you click on "networks maps" in the left menu. Then you see your maps in the right window. Click on the map you want to delete and remove it...

Hmm! In the night I decided to switch dude off... At the morning I increased the timeout of all probes to 00:00:05 (I think that means 5 sec) and the massive false errors are gone. Very strange! Believe it. Device is down but ping from server in running. Time 5 minutes then manual reprobe and device comes up.

Probe interval 30 sec.
Probe Down Count 4 = 2 min

And just another nice phenomen:

From one second to another serveral device in different parts of the network went down. If you wait to next poll the stay down. If you ping the devices with ping probe they are reachable. The devices came back when I did a manual reprobe...

Normis, I am playing with the dude some month long.
I configured the probe time every 10 second and it should be down after 6 polls. Timeout is set to one second. I think this is not the problem. As I said a ping from same machine runs without a lost one. And the round trip of 1ms is unrealistic too.

If you don't understand why 200 MHz separation is neccessary then look on the hardware design of the WLAN cards or better look at professional ptp-microwave equipment. Thy have a separation up to 1080 MHz.

After installing 2B6 I am not able to see hand drawn links. If I add a link I fill the wizard and then the link appears in the link table but not on the map.

Maybe I 'm getting to old but can someone help me?

The sitaution is that the network is rapidly growing. So there is a need to make the map less complex by creating a sub map. Now I want to "cut" a network element structure from the complex map and paste it to the new map.
