Re: Mikrotik 10GbE when?

Hi, so, one year later. Looking at some specification sheets some chip makers do have some nice products laying around (it is not only Broadcom with e.g. BCM56846) Is there any equivalent product for X86? As Mikrotik´s software is becoming more and more major, we really need a hardware accelerated s...

Re: Packet Shaping

What about performance of source NAT (@1518 byte frames)? Imagine up to 2000 users downloading with 1Gbit/s. So, each user downloading with 500kb/s. Will the RB1100AHx2 be able to route this?

Re: RB1200 as VPN Solution

Thaank you very much for your work. I really expected to see higher numbers on the RB1200. I still have some Cisco 3000 VPN concentrators working which I wanted to replace. But I definitely need more throughput. Looking at Mikrotik´s support for SSTP, I reaaly considered those. Well, it would be int...

Re: routing problems: default route for SSTP users

Perhaps, this will work with mangle? 1. Let´s mark all IPs, the users get via dhcp-pool /ip firewall mangle add chain=prerouting action=mark-connection src-address=10.10.10.0/24 new-connection-mark=togw passthrough=yes 2. Here, I have some problems, what am I acutally doing? /ip firewall mangle add ...

routing problems: default route for SSTP users

Hi, I setup a SSTP vpn server parallel to my firewall: http://b3.imageload.net/38776/default/unbenannt-1.gif users can connect from the internet, get an IP address from the mikrotik SSTP server (dhcp-pool). That subnet (of the users) is between "mikrotik sstp" and the "switch". The gateway of that s...

Re: SSTP + no connection from internet possible

Seems, there is something wrong with my firewall. Now I placed the mikrotik parallel to my firewall. I can finally connect to the SSTP service.

SSTP + no connection from internet possible

Hi, time to upgrade our VPN server with a pair of 450G. SSTP runs great, but only within our LAN. So I opened port TCP/443 on our firewall. But no chance. From the internet I cannot connect to the router, although telnet is obviouisly going through to 443(getting an black screen, only). So let´s ope...

Re: Mikrotik + (centralized) wireless controller?

To make it clear, I want Mikrotik´s access points for this: (RB411ah + R52hn + two 5 dbi omni antennas (5Ghz/2.4Ghz)) * 80 + central POE switches. I will have two SSIDs: 1. 802.1x, authentication with RADIUS, WPA/WPA2 plus ACLs on the access points 2. For those being unable to do 802.1X: an open SSI...

Mikrotik + (centralized) wireless controller?

Hi, we are looking for a new centralized wireless controller based wifi solution for our campus. So far, there are individual access points, equipped with ACLs, so that students connect to the access point and then set up a connection to the vpn servers. All of our old access points should now be re...

[RB750] no access: IP: 0.0.0.0

Hi, I think I killed my RB750. The only question is, how did I do it? Well, I basically resetted the RB750 because I forgot the admin password. It did not work first, so I repushed the reset button several time and broke the mini reset button. Well, there´s the other ROS reset jumper hole, which I u...

[RB1100] NAT performance

Hi, I need a 19" IPv4 router doing simple NAT (i.e. two interfaces, 1 public IP address, 2000 private IP addresses) and I need throughput. Real 1 Gbit/s would be great. The router itself doesn´t have to do e.g. firewalling, so just NATing. Well I found the RB1100U which price is simply great. Now th...
