eoip tunnels keep going down. can I disable the loop detect?

*) eoip/eoipv6/gre/gre6/ipip/ipipv6/6to4 tunnels have new features: tunnels go down when no route to destination; tunnels go down for 1 minute when transmit loop detected, warning gets logged; I've built an OSPF network with eoip tunnels so that I can deliver pppoe to my edge routers, but I keep get...

How to monitor HTTP for 500.19 error

Can anyone tell me how to set up a probe to monitor a web server for 500.19 errors?

I have a web server that's up and down like a yoyo and I'd like to just monitor it for that error and execute an iis restart when it happens but I can't figure out how I do that.

Re: RouterOS v6 release candidate 1

Is usb sharing working? I'm sorry to say that final version of RouterOS v6 will not include this feature, as the drivers we tried to use, did not meet our quality standards, and it is a bit too late to write our own implementation from scratch. Bugger, because this is a feature I'm waiting to be wo...

+1 I'm wanting this on an RB1100AH as well.

If anyone hears news on this I'd love a heads up.

Re: How to Change LOGO

It is possible with the branding package. The branding package you can get by asking support. I'm just wanting to change the logo on the login screen of the user manager, not the router itself. Do I need this branding package to do this? I don't have a hotspot set up, I'm just using user manager wi...

Can anyone confirm, is this still the case?

I am using an RB750 and want to know if I can use my external server for added storage for the User Manager.

Re: Routing between networks...

You should post "/ip firewall nat" and "/ip firewall filter". Since it is a 750, maybe you should post "/interface ethernet" also. Hi, I'm not sure what I did right or wrong, but it's going just fine... so back to blocking the NetBT traffic now... someone else made suggestions on what to look at to...

Re: Resetting Counters in the Interface List

An Update would be nice on this. It neither works on a RB433 (ROS 4.17)
I couldn't get it to work on 5.1 on my 750 when I upgraded either. Some of the counters did seem to reset, but not all.

Hi ilium007,

this isn't far from what I'm trying to do. Any chance you could flick me your configs so I can see what how you're doing it?

Re: Advice on a new RouterOS WISP test project

Any good reference points regarding network design? Network Concept Here's my concept. I'm not planing ppp at all because that would require a router at the customer end and I don't get the value in that if I can just do what I want to with vlans. Personally I've only just got a RB 750G and I'm jus...

Re: Advice on a new RouterOS WISP test project

Thanks fewi. I don't want user auth. I want my users to just plug a cheap switch in to the port I give them and be able to send/rec packets. I'm thinking in terms of like a power meter in your home. Your microwave doesn't auth with the power plug, it just goes. However as you've seen from my initial...

Re: Advice on a new RouterOS WISP test project

Regarding IPv4 and IPv6, with MikroTik equipment it is current possible to provide IPv4 and IPv6 end-user addresses with minimal or zero configuration (default DHCP / IPv6 SLAAC on end-user workstation). The same cannot be said for PPPoE (v4) as it requires explicit configuration in most OS' and ro...

Re: Advice on a new RouterOS WISP test project

How so? By utilizing direct ethernet connections to customers in the suburb? Yes. If I can figure out all the bits then that's exactly what I'd like to do. I'm well aware it sounds like a bonkers idea. But the cost of this MikroTik gear here in .nz suggests to me that it just makes sense. If I can ...

Re: Advice on a new RouterOS WISP test project

I'm looking at a question a bit like this but I'm looking at Vlans rather than pppoe as it seems to be the new flavour of the month. From what I can tell about Linux and vlans I'll end up with a few advantages and a simpler system to manage. I'm looking at a combination of routers at the edge with w...

Re: RB750G port forwarding

Maybe I'm misunderstanding what you're trying to do? In my case I just recently had a site where the customer was using an ip address to direct traffic at a database/application server. The client software was configured the same for users both in the building on the local lan and outside the build...

Cool, I will read that and link it in. My plan is to just make the page, if that's ok, and as I find the info in other places, just provide links back to the content so that there's isn't two sources of info to support. Or if you prefer I'll just keep a wiki on my own site of stuff that I found of u...

Getting Started with RouterBoard 750G

Ok, I was recommended to look at MikroTik's RouterBoard 750G. I've installed WinBox on my machine and started looking though the software. I've had a look at the basic configuration and had a bit of a play with changing a few things and attempted (failed) to add a hot spot, just for the hell of it. ...

VoIP Traffic - Getting Started

Got my first 750G. Installed the basic config 192.168.88.0/24 which I plan to change to 192.168.2.0/24 but for now I just want a quick heads up on VoIP traffic. I plan to plug my PATA2 (basic boring Linksys SIP ATA) in to port 2 and everything else into port 3,4,5 with port 1 being connected to my c...
