Re: How to block a DNS request from the outside world?

Hi, if you want to use your publicly accessible Mikrotik as DNS-Server, then you need to filter DNS Requests in such a way that only outgoing requests to a defined set of DNS-Servers are allowed. Those same DNS Servers are also allowed inbound, all the rest on Port TCP/53 and UDP/53 is dropped. Belo...

SNMP Issue

Hello All, we use extensively Mikrotik Routers and Cacti - therefore we also use extensively the great Mikrotik Plugin from the Cacti Group: https://github.com/Cacti/plugin_mikrotik Everything worked fine till we upgraded one of our main PPPoE Concentrators (a CCR1036-12G-4S) from v6.34 to v6.37.1. ...

Re: v6.35.4 [current] is released!

This "enhancement" broke my scripts too. Mikrotik, as usual, broke compatibility in "current" version without thinking abount own customers. Mikrotik never rollback "enhancements" like that. :( P.S. Last time, if anyone ever asks me whether to buy equipment mikrotik I ...

Re: Feature Request TR-069 CPE

Hello, the TR-69 feature request is old and a not answered by Mikrotik. I dont think they are interested, they want you to use the API/Dude. We use(d) Mikrotik's on client sides to terminate PPPoE behind GPON ONT's. As the network is growing, we need to supply our NOC a proper and standardized way o...

API Broken for DMA Radiusmanager

Hello Mikrotik, we are using plenty Mikrotik PPPoE Concentrators integrated with DMA's Radiusmanagers. Seems since a while, the API Integration between DMA and Mikrotik doesnt work anymore. DMA Support is saying, the API on Routeroard 6.x version is broken and we should downgrade to 5.x. We cannot d...

Re: RSTP for VLAN Interfaces (esp 802.1q trunks)

Yes - Missing PV-RSTP (Per VLAN Rapid Spanning Tree) stopped me already a bunch of times using Mikrotik and go Cisco instead...

Further down the Road, ERPS would be great also - especially on the FX CCR's

Re: Bandwidth distribution w/ individual queue graphs

Hi,

I am based myself in Nairobi and are working a lot with all sorts of W-ISPs in central Africa.
E.g. Datco in Buvaku and Goma and several more.
I might have a solution for you...

Just let me know if I can help.
