Re: Report "Delegated-IPv6-Prefix" attribute for PPPoE

Hi guys, I was fighting with IPv6 deployment for few weeks. The authentication is PPPoE as in many other networks. The main issue is that when customer got IPv6 delegated prefix from Mikrotik, we don't have control and information about the prefix that is assigned to end user. This is because Mikrot...

Re: DHCP Option 82 / DHCP-Snooping

Hi, does someone use Option82 in production with Router OS? I was playing a bit with Option 82 on RouterOS, it works fine, just doesn't send the VLAN number. I have a Router with Bridged ports with HW offload (acts as a switch). Relay is running on it. Ether1 is connected to DHCP server location. Ph...

Re: v6.42rc [release candidate] is released!

Ok, guys, I have found the answer on my previous question. :-) Final solution is not that automated as I wanted, but still better than nothing. Instead of setting 0.0.0.0 to profiles we should do following : 1. Define different IP pool for profile. For example 192.168.101.0/24 - regular users, 192.1...

Re: v6.42rc [release candidate] is released!

I checked to override with Radius remote user PPP profile ("Mikrotik-Group" attribute) - it works fine. This is a nice feature that some people where asking for a long time. Now we can define several profiles and set different values there, such as speed per profile, queue type, different ...

Re: Why I am not using WinBox!

I was fighting for some time with Winbox on MAC, tried several different pre built versions, but it didn't work well. The Webfig is not that good as Winbox, I think Winbox is something that is really good tool, especially for learning/teaching people. After long battle I found the way to run it on M...

Re: User logged out after CoA

Hi, it depends what sofware are you using.
We have https://splynx.com working fine with COA and no issues with it. Mikrotik has sometimes bugs, like in Radius with 6.39.0 version, but they fix quite it quickly

Re: v6.39.1 [current]

Have several routers (CCRs) with 6.39 and 6.39.1, accounting enabled, working with freeradius 3, framedipaddress is sent correctly. Have you inspected a packet capture? Are you talking about Stop accounting packet ? I'm telling that Framed-IP is OK in Accounting-start, regular accounting and access...

Re: v6.39.1 [current]

Ok, I'm writing it again here, because on 6.39 I didn't get any answer on my comment: In the 6.39 is broken Accounting STOP packet. 6.39.1 the same thing. Guys, you touched the accounting packets, please fix the stop packet framed IP address. Description : In case when Mikrotik stops the PPP session...

Re: v6.39 [current]

Hi guys, we are developers of Radius software - splynx.com and it looks that inside the 6.39 were broken Accounting STOP packets. It was reported to us by several clients today. The issue is described below : In case when Mikrotik stops the PPP session, it sends wrong Framed-IP address (10.0.0.0). W...

Interfaces with no-queue values

Hello, I have a strange behaviour of routers in one of my networks. Interfaces are put by router without any reason to interface queue "no-queue". What we see is that customers connected to the routers with no-queue interfaces are complaining for speed limitation, and we found that the int...

Re: eBGP / iBGP configuration questions

Question 1: Should I use the same BGP instance for both eBGP and iBGP? Yes, you can use one instance, when you have one AS number, there is no need for second instance Even if you will use one instance still the distance will be 20 for eBPG and 200 for iBGP, but I'm not sure about behaviour and whi...

Re: RouterOS Virtual Labs

Hi, yes, the first small issue - after installation you need to update version of unetlab to latest one - just run commands apt-get update && apt-get install unetlab I think they will fix it soon. Second question - when you add Mikrotik to Unetlab, you must chose "VNC" as type of d...

Would be great to see that too and your thought comparing gns and unetlab. Thanks Hi, Unetlab is an awesome software, GNS3 cannot compar...

Re: Leap second bug present on TILE devices?

Hi, we have Mikrotiks everywhere + around 20 CCRs. NTP is configured on all devices in our network. Conclusion is below : 1. RBs with NTP client or SNTP client were not affected. versions from 6.13 to 6.28 2. Affected were only CCRs with version after 6.20 and NTP client running on it. For example C...

Re: BGP-MPLS-BGP soluton

Hi guys, there will be also the issue with incoming traffic. It's easy to change policy for outgoing BGP traffic, weight, local pref etc, but with flow of incoming traffic from source to your network is not such easy. You do not control this path, even AS-PATH prepending should not help you in some ...

Re: BGP routing loop

Hi Milan, the problem is that your ISP is sending you traffic to unused part of /21 and you don't have NULL route / any route that is matched, so you are using 0.0.0.0 and send it back to ISP, and he sends it back to you again If you will put on interface IP x.x.x.x/21 problem will disapear, our you...

Hi, we have MPLS network with cca. 50 PEs and five VRFs at the moment with 10-100 routes per each + a lot of VPLS stuff and everything is working fine. We don't have route leaking and setup of VRFs is simple (no different route targets combination, just Internet, voice VRF etc.) and setup is quiet s...

Re: Multihoming bgp for load balancing

Hi lahoras, look - there are 2 dimensions of managing BGP traffic : 1. Outgoing traffic If you want to load-balance outgoing traffic from your network, you should get full BGP or partial BGP tables from your ISPs and then setup priority for some of routes through ISP1 and priority for other part of ...

Re: How to put dynamic interfaces to specific VRF

Hi guys, I want to update this old topic. We have quite big MPLS network and we started to work with Internet VRF, so we are putting PPPoE interfaces there manually. The problem at the moment is that in Winbox we can add only 30 interfaces to the VRF, in terminal it accepts more. Adding additional i...
