Re: CRS328-24P-4S+RM - 24x7 fans or temperature sensitive?

Better they stay on, than stay off
I agree.
However, my previuous report with "unexpected crash when interface list has include itself and renamed to other name before saving" was resolved as quickly as possible, about 2 weeks and fixed in current stable ROS.

Re: CRS328-24P-4S+RM - 24x7 fans or temperature sensitive?

Just hooked one up for testing. As soon as I applied power the fans spun up. After about 20 seconds... they stopped. Try wait for 2+ days without reboot, fans will turn on, regardless cool temperature. Mine has few weeks uptime and they spin-up-down-up-down properly (triggered by temp). Though I di...

Re: CRS328-24P-4S+RM - 24x7 fans or temperature sensitive?

I can confirm strange fans management on CRS317 under ROS too.
Stuck with always ON for the last days, but cpu temperature is 29C.

CRS317 hw offload bridge and broadcast traffic on CPU

I use a bridge with a group of all 17 ports for vlans transit. For CRS317 itself i have a management vlan and 1 IP address on it. My customers traffic is mostly PPPoE, and it's OK. I can't see it with Torch because this traffic is processed on the Marvell packets controller. But in FP RX column in I...

Re: CRS317 Problems with 100MBit Devices / What a shame

I confirm it but with MGMT port. If i connect to MGMT port in 100BASE-T mode i see many FCS (CRC) errors on both sides of this copper link. Trying to change ports settings (advertising modes, flow control, negotiation on/off) do not solve the issue. But if i change mode to 1000BASE-T or 10BASE-T the...

Re: RouterOS 6.20 is not sending LCP Term-Req when receives PoD

Experimentally, I found out,
that when I send a CoA (not PoD) request with attribute Session-Timeout = 1,
MikroTik drops session correctly with LCP-Termination.
That's work fine for me.
But I hope, someday this issue will be solved finally.

Re: RouterOS 6.20 is not sending LCP Term-Req when receives PoD

I recommend not to use mikrotik as BRAS. it's just SOHO router for small enterprise MikroTik works well, It has its own amenities for some tasks and cpu load is comparable to the linux accel-ppp. I accidentally discovered the problem with incorrect PPPoE disconnects and was surprised here that such...

Re: RouterOS 6.20 is not sending LCP Term-Req when receives PoD

You have the same problem someone on a 4 year old version of RouterOS had? I'm not a 100% it's the same problem even though you might see some of the same symptoms. Yes. This is old problem has not been solved to this day. I work in ISP and last days we conducted several tests to identify issue wit...

Re: RouterOS 6.20 is not sending LCP Term-Req when receives PoD

I have the same problem.
Lot of SOHO PPPoE routers do not reconnect again after PoD (or CLI, Winbox method, it makes no difference)
disconnect if do not receive correct LCP Term-Req packet before PADT.
MikroTik sends only PADT. It is incorrect.
Please fix it.
