Re: Hacking two internal power supplies into the CRS226-24G-2S+RM

I have verified that the CCR power connectors are Molex 10-63-4027 connectors (or copies). I have ordered a few of these and soldered them to the CRS motherboard of the second of 3 CRS devices being fit with dual redundant power supplies. They fit perfectly. Note that relative to the nearest edge o...

These are micro pops on rooftops. So there can be a little bit of horizontal separation if I'm using two different j arms. But not vertical. Also does not solving facing APs. Re: 6 x 60G AP Sectors Area Configuration Thread

I thought about using some sort of shielding on them. The problem is that unless they are certified with the unit itself, I think it's technically a violation to combine it with the Mikrotik unit as it could change the radio wave propagation of the radio itself. I do have a couple of the 180 degree ...

Is anyone else doing this yet? I've set up six 60G AP's in a 360 degree pattern/coverage every 400m or so. No, NOT 1.17 or lower, I know it's on that.

The newer hardware RB260GS on SWOS 2.7.

Where is the uptime on there?
It seems it's gone missing from the web pages for some odd reason.
I can only see it shown in a neighbor view from another Mikrotik device.

CRS210-8G-2S+ IN cannot set interface bandwidth??

It says could not change interface, not supported on this interface. Also, it won't let me put in 100M. The dropdown options don't work either and only go to 10M Is this supposed to be working on this? I have the latest installed, 6.25 and firmware 3.19 I need to be able to limit upload/download on ...

CCR1009-8G-1S-1S+ stopped, required a physical reboot??

I see some posts that this gem is acting up for other people. I just drove to power cycle it and mine is back up. Only one power cord is installed on the outside plug. I'm on 6.21.1. Using the SFP slot for feed and two Ethernet ports, 1 and 4 to a switch array. Very simple routing, Butches firewall ...

Re: VLAN Help, or, why is mikrotik VLAN so weird!!

"Use service tag" is for 802.1ad stacked vlans, and sets the outer tag ethertype to 0x88a8. Wow, another case where they use the most vague term possible for something. Why can't it say 802.1ad? Or Stacked/QinQ VLAN enable etc? Don't get me wrong, I love using and learning Mikrotik OS, but sometime...

Re: VLAN Help, or, why is mikrotik VLAN so weird!!

Ok, I did get it working using exactly the parameters you set EXCEPT setting the service tag box. On the VLAN page of the VLAN 400 I set the interface to Customers. Then I added the VLAN 400 interface to the Devices bridge. Done. I'm still not entirely sure how mikrotik filtering works, so that worr...

Re: VLAN Help, or, why is mikrotik VLAN so weird!!

That helps a little bit. In the picture shown, I have a CCR router with customer traffic on the Customer bridge. If you can imagine, I have lots of devices sitting behind interfaces connected to this bridge being routed out the internet. However, these devices have management in band on VLAN 400. I ...

Re: VLAN Help, or, why is mikrotik VLAN so weird!!

Thanks, but that's not really very helpful. On a switch port you assign it to a VLAN to pass a tagged packet, or not. That port can be untagged and it will tag ingress packets with the VLAN ID and strip it when it egresses the port. I don't see any of this in routerOS. All I see is the ability to cr...

VLAN Help, or, why is mikrotik VLAN so weird!!

I make a VLAN interface, I assign it to another interface/bridge. What exactly is going on? Is it tagging packets going in that interface/bridge? Coming out the VLAN/bridge? I have a bunch of switches hooked up to my Mikrotik CCR and I want to 'trunk' management VLAN 10 to a specific/seperate bridge...

crs125-24g-1s Performance more than 200Mbps NAT/Masquerade?

I've got a few of these and very simple NAT setup, all switched, no bridge-default.

The most I can get through it TCP is about 180Mbps down and 110Mbps up.

Is this normal for this single core routerboard?

Re: 24 Port RouterBoard with mostly SFP cages??

I would like to have at least two SFP cages ... my Christmas wish I guess. pcunite, they already have several routerboard products with two or four SFP cages. But if you are talking about the 2011 series, then yes, it would be good to have two SFP cages in a version of that as well. I need 20+ SFP ...

24 Port RouterBoard with mostly SFP cages??

Doing an active ethernet fiber to the home project.

Would really like to use a RouterBoard SFP "switch" instead of a Dell 6000F series.

Is there any indication that there will be a 24 port SFP switch with a few 1000GB copper ports?

Sort of the opposite of the new CloudCore 24 port routers?

Is RouterOS DFS implemenation same for every chipset?

Does the DFS/DFS2 radar detect in RouterOS operate the same for every wireless card/chipset, or does it call down into some code on the chip/card itself to run DFS software?

In other words, can I find a 'better' DFS implementation using a different wireless card with RouterOS?

Re: Idiot (me) needs help creating static route on version 4

Thanks, I figured it out. My problem was I had the preferred source (and remote gateway) on a VRRP interface. Apparently you cannot use static routing on VRRP. So I had to assigned the Preferred source to the actual interface, not the VRRP interface and it worked. That sort of breaks VRRP because th...

Idiot (me) needs help creating static route on version 4.16

I don't know what the hell changed, but going from 3.x to 4.16 really blows. I imported my settings and none of my static routes work. I just want to route a subnet 209.41.78.64/27 through to a gateway 208.53.48.254 (which is pingable on the router since it has 208.53.48.253 on it). How do I create ...
