Re: [Question] My backup size is 3626.6 KiB ! isn't huge ?

I found out that my problem was with SSH keys I was dowloading into the router via a script, and rather than replacing the keys each time it was adding them, which over time created my issue. Once I fixed the script the backup files stay pretty consistent. They do fluctuate a little but nothing sign...

Re: QRT G-2SHPnD 10Mhz issue

Just an update for anyone else trying to figure this out.

RouterOS 6.21rc14 seems to have a fix for this. I don't see anything in the CHANGELOG for it but i assume that is for the rc14 and not rc1-14. So I am uncertain when the fix occurred.

Enjoy!

QRT G-2SHPnD 10Mhz issue

I am trying to use a QRT G-2SHPnD in 10MHz as a Client Device and while the option is available, when I do a scan all I see is the 20MHz AP's in the area. I have tried running version 6.6, 6.15 and 6.20 and all react the same. Is this possibly a bug? Is there a work around?

We are running 3.30 on our AP's and several have hit this same issue returning "message=cannot get challenge"

The only solution we currently have is to reboot the router.
Has another fix been found?

Slow / sluggish response

I have been testing with 3.0Beta6 and 7 on a RB133c and a RB112
both had the same results, very sluggish response, and continually timeouts while trying to connect via ethernet. just doesnt seem right.
I downgrade back to 2.9 and it is fine.

I am beginning to see the same thing here. Routerboards just stop responding, I cannot verify through serial connection, because they are out on the tower site, but... I changed out one in my office, to X86 based system and it is happy, just the RB532 that I am seeing this issue, so far... If there ...

Nice site.. ill use it for sure When you say give everything else a lower priority, you mean you just define all the possible services and etc, and set them lower, and then let the voip and a few other undefined flows be higher? interesting approach... can you give an example by chance? I understand...

Also, I am unsure of how to properly configure the priorities, meaning how do I set it up so that VoIP or SIP in this case, gets priority over everything else.

I am looking into that, there are just soo many IP's used by vonage and our provider as well, that it makes it a headache.. but that might be my only option i guess.

I wondered this as well, and reset the client eqiupment to default settings, then reprogrammed it.. but it still has the same issue unfortunately. It is very odd problem, right now, the client shows that they have been on for 4 hours. and this might last for as much as a day, then it just starts fre...

P2P connection Limiting to users TCP and UDP

I have read several example here for limiting connections to cusotmers, but cannot get any to work. I am generally against limiting the cusotmer unless i need to, but these P2P clients are nasty, I watched one customer with 500 open connections both UDP and TCP on random ports, and hardly any of the...

VoIP again

Ok, I know there are alot of posts about this, and I think I have read them all, but I haven't found a good answer just yet. I have a few customers on Vonage, and we also resell our own branded VoIP service. We just upgraded all of our towers from AP-1000's to RB532/SR-2's and have seen dramatic imp...

Thanks for the tip! odie, unfotunately, we are already running 2.9.17, and i don't really feel this is a ...

Client reconnects severals times per minute

I have just replaced an old ap-1000 with a RB532 with an SR2 running in 802.11b mode only. and all the clients connected up just fine, except one continuously resets the connection. I have tried various frequencies, and various power settings after searching through the forums, I have also replaced ...

You suggest actually works great. I haven't had any issues with it since setting it up this way, and actually it ends up being a lot less complicated than the bridge with the vlan's once it is all setup. Thanks again.

OK well i changed the setup around, and sure enough, works great as a router, but still would like to know why the bridge senario didnt work. If anyone ever figures it out.. id like to know.

I think the issue is in the actual VLAN portion of the setup... for what its worth.

That is what i thought.. and tried, it does match the packets, this you can see, however, the queue does nothing. I set the queue to use the packet mark from the bridge filter. the bridge filter set to mark packets for a certain vlan, no problems there, the que simply does nothing.

Agreed, i am willing to implement the other suggestion, but i had plans of using this in other areas in a similar way, so it would be great if someone had a workaround to make it work this way. I do appreciate the above suggestion however, and am going to try it for now when i can schedule more down...

So do you mean, turn the mikrotik from a bridge into a router, and then add the vlan at the interface facing the customers. I have thought of doing this, the bridging was an easy solution with minimal downtime. and i thought this would be possible. I have tried defining the vlans on the bridge inter...

I feel like i have tried everything.. I am beginning to pull my hair :? I tried to mark the VLAN traffic, and that does work fine. but when you try to limit it.. it doesnt seem to see it at all... odd. so since i have each of the cusomters subnetted as well.. i tried to just setup the queue based on...

thanks for the response, unfortunatley, it didnt work for me, i might have something configured improperly however. I am trying to do the same. I have setup a mgmt interface on eth1 and then setup eth2 and eth3 as a bridge. I have tried adding the VLAN's i want to put the queue on under the bridge interface. Do I need to add them to the ethernet interfaces instead? What I am trying ot accomplish is to do some tra...
