Re: feature request - https for webui

HTTPS is not easy to implement on a small microcontroller that's probably inside the SwOS devices (except those capable of SwOS/RouterOS dual-boot). But, why isn't the password hashed I really don't understand. UNIX V7 released in 1979 already had the crypt() function based on DES. While it's not co...

Re: CSS-610 management ports and topology dreams.

Would it help to simply disable RSTP (just on the one management port, or completely if you don't expect to have any loops)?
Then the management port on the CSS610 might work as expected, of course you must be very careful to not create any loops by accident.

Or is this product abandoned, and something better is in the works?

Re: # BUG !!! INTERFACE - ETHER - POWER-CYCLE-PING-ADDRESS #

I can confirm on CRS328, both 6.43.16 and 6.44.3 still have this bug (with the shiny new recommended hw-offloaded bridge VLAN setup). Normal ping from command line to the same IP addresses works just fine, but power-cycle-ping reboots the devices periodically as if there was never any response. ARP ...

CRS3xx RSTP/MSTP only on some ports

I'd like to make a ring of a few CRS3xx devices connected by their 10Gb SFP+ ports (over DAC cables , copper SFP+ like S+RJ10, or fiber - depending on distance) which carry multiple VLANs as trunk ports and STP to protect from failure of any single switch (or link between switches). The two modes A and B are not unexpected, they are fully specified in the 802.3af/at standards. I'm also seeing wAP ac crashing under load (reboot by watchdog timer) - in my case, it's a "NAT router on a stick" (separate tagged VLANs for WAN and LAN sides) and CPU load from sustained high traffic on the wired side only (wireless mostly idle) is sufficient to trigger the issue. Despit...

CRS328-24P-4S+RM Head-Of-Line blocking?

I have a setup where the CRS328 powers a few APs, and the uplink port (ether24) which shows many Rx overflow errors. Most APs run on gigabit links, except maybe two 100M ones. Total traffic through the switch is like 200-300 Mbps most of the time, so the Rx overflows are difficult to explain (no, no...

Re: CRS317 10G -> 1G traffic slow, everything else fine

The buffer size (RTT times speed) you're mentioning is too large (and is usually referred to as buffer-bloat). Needed buffer size in switch is typically smaller, a few frames (jumbo if needed) per switch. If there's a congestion on single port, flow control needs to kick-in. The buffer size you're ...

Re: CRS317 10G -> 1G traffic slow, everything else fine

I can confirm it is fixed in 6.43.8. What is the switch buffer size? It might be good enough for LAN use, but still too small for real bursty traffic from the Internet. The buffer should be approximately sized to hold amount of data corresponding to the average RTT (round trip time), and in a switc...
