Re: 2 wan with mangle rules but does not work to monitor from other lan

Does the WAN router have a route for DESTINATION 192.168.0.0 / ??? listing the "Aircontrol" router as the next hop?
Otherwise the ping reply won't get back ...

Multiple BGP sessions to one provider

Hi All, I am trying to bring up a second BGP session on a new circuit to an existing provider (with an existing BGP session). So, for example I have an established session from my AS to Provider-1 over a 200 Mbps Metro-E circuit. I'm trying to establish a second session from my AS to Provider-1 over...

Re: NTP server busted in 5.5 ?

Still looking for a fix for this. Appears that the MikroTik's ntp response packet is somehow not valid: XM.v5.5.6# ntpclient -d -h 172.16.2.3 Configuration: -c probe_count 0 -d (debug) 1 -g goodness 0 -h hostname 172.16.2.3 -i interval 600 -l live 0 -p local_port 0 -q min_delay 800.000000 -s set_clo...

Re: NTP server busted in 5.5 ?

I just set up a test system with my spare router and installed 5.24 along with the ntp package. Still no luck; it is exhibiting the same behaviour as the other system. Is there additional documentation for the ntp server? On a system with multiple interfaces, (and say a linux-based ntp), there are u...

NTP server busted in 5.5 ?

Hi All, I'm trying to get the ntp server running under 5.5. It is installed and running but will not respond to queries. The router has 3 LAN and one WAN interface; no luck on any of them. The standard ntp client on the router is configured and synced with an "outside" server. Tried the src-nat "tri...

Re: Reading internal menu ID

That really doesn't work either ... Here's a "fresh" example: The goal: Supply a connection name ("main-2" in this example), and issue a "/ppp active remove xx" command to drop the specified connection. This is what /ppp active print returns: [admin@rb0-dj2] /system script> /ppp active print Flags: ...

Re: Reading internal menu ID

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately, none of the examples you mention seem to work. The interfaces I am trying to remove have been dynamically created via PPP. What does work is to do something like "/ppp active remove xx" where "xx" is the "item number" you see when doing a /ppp active print. It is...

Reading internal menu ID

Hi All, I'm creating a script to reset selected PPPoE connections. I am trying to read the internal menu ID number (ie. stuff it in to a variable of the correct type). A "put" of the whole string for a selected connection shows ".id" as the variable name but I can't seem to use that. Here's my test ...

NTP Package for X86

Hello,

I have MaxxWave hardware (X86)running what it says is "Version 5.5". I'm looking
for the NTP package that will work with this platform. I'm a little confused as to
how my system is 5.5 when the latest release from MikroTik is 5.19. Will NTP
from 5.19, X86 work?

Thanks in advance!

Re: OSPF problem with Cisco

Hi, I have routerboards talking OSPF w/ a Juniper. Have not seen your problem yet but if you do have 450s that are working, I would check the software/firmware versions on the busted one against the others. It has to be a config/software problem on that particular 450 if you know that the network is...

PPP Rate Limits Working, Burtsting is Not

Hi All, I've been running Routerboards and FreeRadius for PPPoE Internet access for some of our members; we're a co-op WISP. All is working fine except I cannot get bursting to work. It seems that no matter what I set the Mikrotik-Rate-Limit string to be, only the first (rate limit) parameter will t...

Hi All, I'm having problems getting a vpn connection set up between a MT RB450G and a Mac OSX machine. IpSec is not working and gives the error message "couldn't find configuration". I'm using pre-shared keys. Is there a way to get more detailed log info on exactly what configuration is being refere...

Re: MikTik does not understand my FreeRadius

What happens when you test an id on the FR server itself
with the "radtest" utility. If that works, then your FR server
would seem to be ok.

Re: Redundant PPPOE Mikrotik Servers

Hello, I thought I would share my experience of recently setting up redundant PPPoE servers w/ RADIUS. So far, it would seem that redundancy is not possible. I am testing on a small portion of our 400 CPEs. We are a WISP and the PPPoE servers (RB493s) are located in our central location. I have both...

Redundant RADIUS server addresses (RB is client)

Can a second ip address be specified for a backup RADIUS server?
ie. if the primary is down, then the RB will attempt to contact the secondary.

Can't find this anywhere in the Wiki; suspect there are some creative work-arounds
out there.

Many thanks ...

Hello, I am in the process of transitioning a 400+ CPE wireless network from a bridged to a routed topology. Eminating from our central office are six backhaul links which fan-out to associated APs and clients. I am going to be using PPPoE, RADIUS, and OSPF for client connections and I have this par...

Re: Redundant PPPOE Mikrotik Servers

Hello,

I am about to set up the same thing but my RADIUS server is handing out static, public, ip addresses. What I am trying to figure out is how to route packets coming back in (from Internet). How do I know which of the two MikroTik PPPoE servers
is the appropriate "next hop"?

Thanks,
Reiney
