Re: Using RouterOS to VLAN your network

"The router's Purple Trunk port sees a Blue DHCP request and spins up a Blue DHCP server running on a configured Blue VLAN interface." That's not actually how it works. The DHCP Server needs to be set up and running - it isn't "spun up" by the router receiving a DHCP Request from a device. Now, I kn...

Re: disable/enable ethernet interface script

Out of interest, on 6.42.3 when I run that port speed query, I get the same - every Interface is 100Mbps except for sfp1 (CRS-125-24G-1S-2HnD) which is 1Gbps - and all interfaces are configured as "Auto" with all speeds advertised. G'day, I have a situation where I need to run a section of a script to clear out previously configured information on a MikroTik router based on whether a variable is set. Reset Configuration doesn't wipe System Note

In 6.38.1 (and maybe earlier versions) when you perform a Reset Configuration and also a 5 second reset button on power on reset, the "/ system note" that was configured before the reset remains set. I just wish WinBox would use a more standard Window than the one they use - in regular Windows apps you can double-click on a divider between columns and it will expand to the size needed to display the contents of that column - in WinBox we need to click and drag each column divider. Re: RouterOS 6.34 (RTM) on .vdi CHR and Dude Client cannot connect - 10061

Ok, I got it: "/dude set enable=yes" That turns it on... Yeah, sorry - my bad. I have updated the command above now to a valid one. :) I have now performed a number of RouterOS 6.34 installs and upgrades and can confirm that even though The Dude Server module is installed in the CHR images and appe...

Re: Probe Thread

I got this corrected, It took me realizing how the label was created and the sub components that created it.
Any more info on what you did here as this has been annoying me for a while, too.

Re: RouterOS 6.34 (RTM) on .vdi CHR and Dude Client cannot connect - 10061

What you can do is a "/dude set enabled=yes" which will enable The Dude Server in 6.34 RTM.

dude print
enabled: yes
data-directory: dude
status: running

And this holds after a reboot, too, which is "nice".

It would be handy if this was mentioned somewhere in the release notes, guys!

Re: RouterOS 6.34 (RTM) on .vdi CHR and Dude Client cannot connect - 10061

I've never tried the pre-release versions, but I can confirm that I'm unable to connect with the Windows client to the Dude server. That's on three x86 machines. Then I discovered by doing /dude print, that the Dude server is not in fact running on any of them, even though installation of the serve...

RouterOS 6.34 (RTM) on .vdi CHR and Dude Client cannot connect - 10061

I upgraded my 6.34RC42 to 6.34 RTM, the Dude Client upgraded as it normally does, and I started receiving 10061 errors and not being able to connect. As I have a backup, I decided to blow away my Dude CHR install, download the 6.34 .vdi file (running on VirtualBox here), resize the partition to a de...

Thanks. Out of interest, the issue persists in 6.34RC45.

I wrote an Android version available here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=ie.snowy.thedude&hl=en Right now, with The Dude 6.34rc41, there is no Web Server, so your Android client doesn't work. :( I know that's not your fault... Dude Probes Across Agent

In Dude 6.34 RC34 I found I was able to quite successfully scan a remote client network by configuring a Dude Server on the client network and configuring it as an Agent on our office network Dude Server. RouterOS, SNMP and other such services were detected and worked exactly as expected. Under Dude...

Re: Winbox Secure Mode, TLS encryption version

Hhmmm, what about Webfig? I can connect perfectly using https, but when I try https, I get the old "You need to enable crappy, insecure protocols to access this website" message (yes, I enabled www-ssl in ip/service). I get the same issue trying IE11 (Win 10) and Chrome ver 47 - neither of these sup...

This may or may not work - the Dude 4.0B3 MIPSBE package: https://www.dropbox.com/s/2tbcgft7h8bp9 ... e.npk?dl=0

I'm not too sure how well this works in 6.33 either, but here's a link to the older MIPSBE Dude 4.0 Beta 3 package: https://www.dropbox.com/s/2tbcgft7h8bp9 ... e.npk?dl=0

Re: Dude Agent, Again

G'day GeoffSmith, I'd really like to see the answer to your question on SNMP. It seems that, without a VPN connection to the remote networks, I cannot get The Dude to communicate through the Agents - the Dude Agents appear with a blue tick (most of the time) on my main Dude server here at my office,...

OK, I have The Dude 6.34rc19 running in a CHR, both here in my office and on a test client site and I can't get the "Agent" functionality working. under 4.0B3 this worked fine (same client) whereas now I get the Agent to connect, but not work - no snmp info, no RouterOS info, nothing. Re: The Dude is back! v6.34rc test build released

Hi Mikrotik Team (and others using the existing version) At the moment I (and a number of people I work with) use Dude 4.0B3 on RB450G units as dedicated low power local monitoring units in locations. These are running only the Dude and have a MicroSD card inside them for storage. Also as CCR's hav...

I just downloaded the Tikbox Lite app to have a play with before you release your Pro version, and no matter what I do, I cannot connect to the office RB750G. The ping works, but whether I use the default 8728 port or the normal WinBox 8291 port, I get the following error when trying to connect: Err...
