Is there at least a script to make a sustained ping through an IPSec tunnel? I just want to keep the tunnel stablished

DMZ is less secure as you need to strongly secure the whole server you put in the DMZ. Is better to just NAT the ports you need to access from the Internet.

please add this to your logging configuration "system logging add topics=pppoe" And paste your log output again. You should check the type of authentication you are using in your "ppp profile" and... check if you are creating a PPPoE client interface not a ppp client interface, I've seen this before.
