Re: PPPoE and Dynamic IPs

So this doesn't have anything to do with PoE unless I'm missing something. Have you tried playing with lease-time in /ip dhcp-server lease? I'm using the ISC DHCP server because that's what I had before I was using MikroTik. They have a "max-lease-time" option. It's also possible for a client to us...

PPPoE and Dynamic IPs

Good day folks, I've been using Mikrotik as PPPoE server for quite some time now with Public IP "Pools" as remote address in the profile. Everything works fine. One thing I'm unable to figure out is how do I make mikrotik to assign a new IP each time a user logs in. i.e. if say, a user is logged in ...

Thank you very much for responding.

One more thing I'd like to clarify, any traffic originating from any of the downstream ASes destined towards AS111111 will have both the ASes in the AS path.. right?

Hello rahulmkhj,
I am wondering is access manager supports, speed limit burst for mikrotik hotspot and ppp users?
1) No, Access Manager DOES NOT support Speed Limit Burst.
2) Yes, Access Manager DOES support PPPoE/Hotspot login with same ID.

Radius is a Protocol, so there is no such term as compatible radius. If its a Radius server IT can be used with Mikrotik RouterOS to authenticate users. Freeradius seems to be the most popular in the industry and is Open Source. But it CANNOT BE installed on RouterBOARD itself.

This is not the problem, because hotspot have to work on LAN interface only, which have IP adddress 172.16.0.254. I changed the interface because I didn't wanted to activate it on LAN interface until I fix this issue.

That will help us decide, if we should support Mikrotik as NAS in our project or not? Any help will be app...

Dear All, I want to setup mikrotik webproxy for IP/URL logging purpose. But, if I enable webproxy (need to redirect port 80 to 8080). It starts natting my lan ip pool (public ip) onto wan IP. Re: RouterOS L4 as BGP??

Thanks for your reply buddy. But, I've already been to that page & didn't find answer to my question. As per this link, L4 supports only 200 PPPOE sessions & Hotspot users. But, I don't want to use RouterOS as Hotspot or PPPoE server. I just want to use it as BGP Router & user management will be don...
