Using just a cable won't work like that on most devices. You need a voltage boost converter. I have gotten many routers to start with 9V. Maybe as an alternative, it could be re-written as a cross platform electron framework application. Then it could have a client for windows/mac/Linux. Just an idea.

That should work fine, as long as the ethernet cables are not too long, as you get power loss on long cable runs that will lower the voltage by the time it reaches the radio.

Always good to have good lighting arresters on all network cables that go outside. Learned the hard way a long time ago. Very rarely have problems anymore and we get a fair amount of lightning here. Our one tower gets hit by lightning on a regular basis. Remember to tie the arrestor to a good ground...

Sounds like maybe you are using active dac cables and don't have enough wattage with the dac installed to boot. Devices normally need a lot of power for the initial boot (charging capacitors and boot straping), but once running power reduces and you can add additional loads (the dacs). It's possible...

Sounds like possibly a snmp counter problem, are you using snmp v1? That would have a problem with using 32bit counters, need to use snmp v2/v3 for 64bit counters.

If the power is connected the cpu is still running, even when you issue a shutdown in routeros. It just does a unix halt all processes and sits there in an idle loop, there is no way for it to power down if it's like all the other routers i have seen.

What antennas are you using? Most antennas are tuned for particular frequency ranges, so if your trying to use a 2.4 antenna with a 5.x radio it's not going to work. Need to use a 5.x antenna.

Thanks everyone for your input, anyone else have anything they can add? I woudl like to know what is the maximum that people have run sucessfully, even if I run the CPU close to 100% or at 100% that's fine as long as things keep moving good.

This is going to be a fairly high bandwidth tower, for now I will be assigning it two class C network blocks, so say 500 users, and I was planning also on assigning a second virtual AP on the radios for a second network block. As for MBPS, i'm hoping for 20-25 per radio or better, i know that one of...

Mikrotik just updated the package, remove the package (reboot to let it uninstall), upload new package from download page, reboot to install, and then from command line, go to /tool user-manager customer add login

After that it fixed it for me.
