If you are not doing anything fancy with BGP communities, filters, etc., you should be fine. I'm in the same boat as you right now. My decision is to replace with Vengeance because I want to reduce fate sharing and split the core which will allow me to physically scale geographically. As for "better...

Re: Password-less ssh login

I have password-less ssh working for quite some time now I discovered today that the user linked to the key will authenticate with no password if management transports other than ssh are allowed. Test: /user add group=full name=keytestuser /user ssh-keys import public-key-file=key.pub user=keytestus...

Re: Amazon AWS VPN -- A Working Configuration Example and Bug

I've been running a modification of this configuration for a month now. The major revision I made to this config is to terminate each AWS VPN tunnel to separate 1100AHX2's as opposed to only one: this removed the "bug" and, most importantly, allows me to perform Mikrotik maintenance without taking t...

Re: Function execute parser error

I'm running 4b3 in production and have been testing new Dude releases on a CHM.  My migrated probes using "execute local" do not work on latest Dude; notifications do, but probes do not.   I figure the cause is CHM (Dude Server) can't execute windows-based scripts as a probe function.  Dude 4b3 runs...

Re: New Windows Version of TheDude? Is this in the works?

Yes, Dude server will not be made for Windows, but you can install RouterOS in VirtualBOX (via CHR image, for free) and run it the same way as before. Normis, After actually installing the new version, I understand what you are saying here; however, this isn't very clear in the release notes. It re...

Re: Amazon AWS VPN -- A Working Configuration Example and Bug

Regardless if this thread is stale, it offers some good intelligence. I believe the trouble in your ipsec configuration is this: level=require it should be changed to: level=unique Mikrotik defaults an ipsec policy to level=require which allows a single pair of bidirectional crypto tunnels (SPI's) t...

Function, rate, probe of syslog messages

I have configured Windows events to be sent to syslog using a free application called SyslogAgent. I then configured Windows log text files to be pushed over to syslog as info events like DHCP, inet, and logs from my phone system as outlined here - http://itcoop.wordpress.com/2010/12/02/shoretel-eve...

Re: SMS again - GSM via COM port

Have you Tried using Echo? sendsms.cmd echo AT+CMGS="+phonenumber" > com3 echo Your 'OMG the sky is falling' SMS message here (Ctrl-Z) > com3 Use notepad++ to create the CRLF and CTRL-Z or you can send using two echo statements. Pass variables by declairing and setting an environment variable. Works...

Re: Monitoring disk space for Virtual Machines

Setup SNMP on each VM and monitor disk space like you would with a physical machine.
