Re: Using RouterOS to QoS your network - 2020 Edition

First off, nice work pcunite. That's a lot of effort you put in and very well documented. Here is something I was thinking of. If you trust the DSCP markings applied by the devices on your network. Typically you can unless your devices are compromised. You could first check to see if the device is a...

Re: 802.11ac Wave2 Support?

normis or Reinis, Do you have a list of AC devices that will receive the MU-MIMO functionality when the driver is updated to support it? Will all MikroTik AC devices support it? Or certain ones? I'm ok with it not currently supporting it, but will in the future. Back when 802.11g came out, if you ha...

Feature Request - Use appropriate data set for graphs display date range selection

I have a fairly large disk space allocated to my dude server. I'm running on a CHR. I would like to keep as much data as possible for each data source. I was keeping raw data for up to 3 years, but when viewing in the scale of 365 days it would be too much data causing the chart not to be easily rea...

Re: HowTo: Install WinBox64 on macOS

Quick correction. You don't need to install Xquartz anymore. Not sure when WinBottler stopped needing. Just old habit from when I first did it many years ago. It might be needed for certain applications as Wine still suggests it as an optional install it on their website. But for WinBox it's not nee...

Re: HowTo: Install WinBox64 on macOS

This method retains the icon and creates a .app file for you. As well this way doesn't have the addresses.wbx import bug. I believe the 64 bit edits are because of a bug. So normally you wouldn't have to do that. Might eventually get fixed. Otherwise it would be a Next, Next, click based install.

Re: hEX nand size ONLY 16MB !!!!

I purchased a hEX (RB750Gr3) router. The gigabit version, not the 100Mbps Lite version. I did know before hand it was 16MB, but didn't realize how tight it would be until using it. The routers I compared to buy were: RB750Gr3 (hEX) RB2011 RB3011 I would have much rather bought the 3011, but due to s...

Re: Agent Behavior

I also see that some tools will use the device's agent as a proxy and some not. For example terminal executes directly to the device. Where if I create a custom winbox tool. It doesn't proxy the request through the dude agent. Which means I would need direct access to the device in order to execute ...

Also is there any way to get the cool winbox icon attached back to your custom tool? Instead of the generic window icon.

Re: TOOL/WINBOX Disappeared from LIST

I was able to get this working on my Mac. However I feel there should be an easier way to do it than what I did. First I tried copying it directly into the app package contents. Which didn't work. Also for windows users like Bomber67. Place winbox.exe directly in the dude's program file directory. T...

Re: SGI not working

Thanks,

I've tried 6.39 & 6.39.1 and got the same issue. I believe the recent SGI fix was related to CAPsMAN. This might be a separate issue. Or just an incompatibility. Not sure.

SGI not working

RB493G /w R52nM PCI card ROS v6.37.5 When using 2.4GHz on the R52nM radio I'm not able to get SGI speeds. If I change the R52nM radio to use 5GHz, SGI works. I'm using a Mac Mini /w Broadcom BCM43xx wireless 2.4/5GHz. Also my mAP lite has same issue when connecting to the RB493G + R52nM. However if ...

After upgrading to 6.34.2 Traffic Flow stopped recording Rx. Tx worked fine.

I reverted back to 6.29. I didn't try any releases in-between.

I'm using WanGuard

CCR1009 ether1-4 keeps dropping to 0 bytes / 0 packets

Watching one of my routers, I see ether1, ether2, ether3, & ether4 drop to nothing. Both in Tx & Rx for both Bytes and Packets. ether5, ether6, ether7 & ether8 don't experience this same drop. So my thought is this must be a bad switch chip? This is a brand new router. Should I try to RMA it? I also...

Re: CRS Pass packet to CPU

First thing I do with every MikroTik I do is remove the default config and strip to no settings. It's not going to be doing a lot of routing. It will be a Single WAN connection coming into it at 10-20 Mbps down / 1-2 Mbps up. And it won't be constantly pegging that connection out. So I'm sure any co...

But from your explanation. It explains why the default config of a 2011 has both Master/Slave + Bridge configuration. I never understood what the benefit to doing both was for. Now I understand. Thanks.

Re: CRS Pass packet to CPU

Thanks, that helps get a better understanding. I'm not concerned about wire speed because the reasoning by sending it to the CPU is to block the traffic between them. So the speed between them should be none. I didn't setup Master or Slave ports. Everything you describe makes sense. I was getting L3...

CRS Pass packet to CPU

Hi, I have a CRS125-24G, I'd like to pass several port's traffic to the CPU so that it does NOT get processed by the switch logic. If I can't do specific ports, doing all is fine too. I want to isolate these ports. But not in the method that port isolation works. Port isolation will send the traffic...

google is probably not the best example, since it returns multiple ips. It has many servers that can respond. DHCP alerts, arrays

It appears that the DHCP alerts can't use array variables. I can take the same script and copy it to /system scripts as a stand alone and it will run fine. If it point the DHCP alert to that same working script I created in /system scripts, it will not pull the values for the array variable. It also...
