Re: Can't connect when local user goes inactive

Thanks for taking the time out to reply and look through the router outputs. We've been working on this all weekend - and it appears to be a Mikrotik flaw - the ethernet flapping issue that others have reported. After a certain period of time, the router goes into a loop of "link up/link down". Look...

Re: Can't connect when local user goes inactive

Is there any 'output' I could get via the terminal window - that I could get and post here - that would shed any more light on the problem?

Re: Can't connect when local user goes inactive

it'll be in the ppp section, in the dialout tab of the interface you are using to access the internet, if you are using pppoe or something like that. Thanks for that. That's the section I've been looking through - but there are no entries in this section. I didn't set this router up originally - an...
how does it connect to the internet? does he have "Dial on Demand" set?
Forgive me (100% newbie) but while I did think of this, I can't for the life of me find the section where this can be set/changed. I'm accessing the rb100 via winbox v.5.4

Can't connect when local user goes inactive

A buddy of mine has setup a RB1100. For the most part it seems to work fine - but with one major problem right now. It seems that whenever he leaves his laptop (which - along with other networked devices flow through this router) and is inactive for a short while, the router is no longer reachable -...

Basic Setup Query

I recently bought the RB1100 in order to make full use of my home cable connection which is 500 mbps synchronous cable internet. The consumer router supplied can't get anywhere close to this. However, with professional level kit comes more advanced configuration - and I need to build up my knowledge...
