Re: RE : Script telnet and monitor

Sadly its a basic device that does not support ssh. Thank you for the suggestion :) I was hoping to encapsulate the monitoring of the device and CPE into a independent per site solution, however such is life. I did create software (that needs more work) that does what I want by logining into the bas...

Re: RE : Script telnet and monitor

Thank you for your answer. At least now I know it is not doable via router directly. I will put further effort into other avenues.

RE : Script telnet and monitor

I'm a total newb with Mikrotik scripting. I'd like my CPE per site to telnet into and monitor the status of a device local to it. What I'd like to do is use /system telnet xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx, pass the password "xxxxx" , status is gotten by simply entering "status" on the device, get the status and put ...

Re: New products, prices and specs

SNMP is great with cacti, but I found some details missing I really wanted, ccq, tx and rx signal, hardware frames etc, so I made a ssh app that polls each device by logging in and using normal terminal commands at a time interval I choose, which then gets saved to sql and notifies me via sms, email...

Re: Q: strange CCQ - with dual nstream good, with 5ghz-onlyn

distance between point a and point b 1km, LOS; antennas svenska antennispetsialisten 28dbi dishes; (1xV and 1xH on each side); 28 dbi antennas for 1km is overkill beyond words. That matched with dbii 28 db N cards and theres just to much power. as a comparison, I use 28 dbi antennas for 20km links ...

Re: Q: strange CCQ - with dual nstream good, with 5ghz-onlyn

It appears I misunderstood the question.

Its possible that nstreme-dual doesnt support N links, as N is supposed to be its replacement.

Have you tried to bond the 2 links ?

Re: Q: strange CCQ - with dual nstream good, with 5ghz-onlyn

Without actually viewing the link itself a few things come to mind in order of likelyhood. 1. Antenna alignment 2. Freznel zone obstruction. 3. Noise in channel selected 4. Spacing between antennas. 5. Distance of link and antennas used. Perhaps separate the links, and measure performance of each to...

Re: really neeeeeeeeed your help

well, from what i saw of your network, at the moment you have a tplink modem/router, which is currently doing the authentication with your isp. you should put the tplink into "bridge mode" and then in the routerboard setup a ppp connection, that way the routerboard will have the public ip and be th...

Re: Feature Request : Load balancing

each RTP session is separate connection in connection tracking. So theoretically you can use nth to mark connections and do session based load balancing. Done as indicated and its working well. Thanks for all comments and suggestions. Edit : After some testing , it tends to load balance the session...

Re: Feature Request : Load balancing

:) As usual, i think you need to find actual accepted RFCs, to get some normal discussion starting. Sorry, but so far this topic looks like "Make my router so that it will configure itself and exactly like i need" I agree with your statement, I would like load balancing to be a simpler, easier feat...

Re: Writing to log file (or appending to files)

My software allows for any terminal command to be entered and returned. Very awesome. I monitor ccq values , etc for wireless quality constraints. I would highly recommend ssh. Another use I have found is simplified installer software (I also made). ie no winbox complexity, just the functions they ne...

Re: Writing to log file (or appending to files)

Hi, Ive just made software using .net 4.0 that interrogates Mikrotiks on my network using ssh (which is then parsed). I've further added db support and emailing is very easy via .net. Still need to add sms though. In my case I get the "/int wi reg pr advanced" data per CPE (every 2 mins). I've done ...

Voip load balance

Hi, I'm looking for suggestions to load balance voip over mikrotik using 2 adsl lines. The solution will only carry voip, no internet data. Ideal scenarios would be load balancing by packet, or by session. sip server has one ip only and port 5060 , along with RTP. The voip gateway also has one ip. S...

Re: load balancing multiple adsl trough a switch

You could use a RB750 , it could load balance 4 adsl modems (one per ethernet) and one ethernet for output to switch with no issues. (and they're cheap) :D

Re: problem when my RB750 as DNS server

Hi, Generally you'd either pppoe to your adsl (when bridged) or route , with mascarading. Either setup scenario would have a different dns setting. isp dns in the case of pppoe on the rb750 (auto), the adsl router ip in the case of routing. if the above doesnt help then you should give more details ...

voip failover

Hi, I run a smallish VoIP/internet network using Mikrotik to wirelessly move the traffic.
