Check what versions of ROS you have on the different routers. New versions have different security and won't connect to old versions.

Most likely the 5GHz issue is caused by DFS -

This can be avoided by manual frequency selection on a non DFS frequency. A "Scan List" in wireless settings can also assist.

As for Grove 52, would 5 GHz work on that device? - I feel it makes more sense to get ubiquity on 2 and 5 GHz for spectral scanning than MT, however better (more precise) the Dude scanning is.

Shutdown the CHR and increase the HD size in ESXi allocated to the CHR. Restart the CHR and it should automatically pick up the increased disk size. You could also add another virtual drive in ESXi for the Dude files. This will stop it over running and crashing the router when it runs out of space.

Re: PowerBox Pro with more number of ports

I think 2x PowerBox pro would be better than a RB2011 in a box on the tower. For a start the PowerBox pro has POE on all ports at 1G. 2x PowerBox would provide a better diversity you could also arrange them on proximity.

Be very careful with Quickset after you have made advanced changes with the conventional menus.

Quickset is only designed for the initial setup. After customizing with the advanced menu options don't return to Quickset to make further changes as often they are out of sync.

The voltage readout says 23.7v, so It can't be the psu.

Any thoughts?
Don't dismiss a PSU fault unless you've swapped it out. When the caps in the PSU go bad there can be high ripple on the power line causing unstable operation.

You could do this with just one router, a RB1100AHx4. Does the ISP provide a copper ethernet connection to their NTU?

Re: The Dude is back! v6.34rc test build released

You need Dude Windows client in any case. Server does not do anything without the Windows Client. I've installed the Dude on a CHR v6.34rc after a bit effort to import the VMDK image. I think the Dude needs a mini dashboard in the Webfig/Winbox to see it's running and the current activity. ie devic...

Re: CHR on Windows VMware Player (free 7.1.3 build-3206955)

The guide at the beginning of the initial large CHR forum post isn't working for me (it's Mac, I'm using Win7). I've found some missing steps for the Windows VMware Player to use the Mikrotik CHR VMDK. It's demonstrated on this Youtube video - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_YzDc1x-sOs Is this how...

CHR on Windows VMware Player (free 7.1.3 build-3206955)

The guide at the beginning of the initial large CHR forum post isn't working for me (it's Mac, I'm using Win7). In windows after choosing create a new VM then other OS, other 64bit you don't get a choice of images to open. If you choose "Open a virtual machine" the chr-6.34rc16.vmdk isn't recognized...

Re: The Dude is back! v6.34rc test build released

If I minimize the Dude client (top right corner - )it closes and has no memory of the server. If I close (with the top right corner X) the Dude remembers the server.

Re: 6.33 version released!

Torrent?
Going by past Torrent URLs this should work -
http://www.mikrotik.com/download/router ... 33.torrent
But it responds "Broken", past versions have torrented with this URL pattern.

Re: reseteting router after upgrade

I have a setup at home where ether1 and ether5 are bridged, bridgewan, all firewall rules are moved to the new bridge instead of ether1. I do this because I have my tv box on ether 5, it needs to be outside of the firewall rules. The rest of the network is connected to ether 2-4 or through wifi as ...

Re: MikroTik Router and different subnets

Where do I make modifications to the NAT to allow one subnet to see the other? You need to turn NAT and the firewall off on the Netgear router. You then need to add a route to network 192.168.1.1/24 with the gateway address of the WAN address of the Netgear to the Mikrotik. Alternative. Turn off DH...

If you can, please check the video... the router might be completely lost and if it is so, I would know it is lost. http://youtu.be/q-xCCGVcKRg Anyway, is there any beep diagnose table, so I can understand the strange beeping at boot time? Thanks, Sounds like it's still alive. Is your cable a null ...

Re: Forwarding multiple VLAN traffic through SXT 5 PTP Bridge

the SXT has one ETHERNET and one WLAN port and both are in "Bridged" mode for communicating called the "Bridge1" interface. so now the "Bridge1" interface is carrying the traffic for both Ethernet and WLAN as a single port. the same is on the other side of the unit as it is PTP scenario. Your netwo...
