Re: RB493G, 60.0% Bad Blocks!!! What should I do now?

Today MT support refuse license update after NAND replacement for RB493G. As well doesn't offer paid repair. . . That's very disappointing. The RB493G was one of MikroTik's most expensive bare board routers with unique features. It's not like a RB411 basic board, you can't purchase a current bare R...

Re: Routing a Block of Public IP Addresses

There's a lot of public IP addresses in that plan going to waste. Many years ago an Australian ISP would give you a WAN IP like 203.173.50.133/22, Gateway 203.173.48.1 via DHCP. Be careful with student accommodation. Often they can bring in their own misconfigured router with DHCP turned on creating havoc. You can tear your hair out thinking your facility has a fault but it's the addition of the rogue router causing the issue.

Re: What Mikrotik router support TheDude?

Right now, the only clear choice is the "RB1100AHx4 Dude Edition" as it name implies. I was hoping to clarify if the high end routers "CCR" support the dude or not. The RB1100AHx4 is a high end router. If you need higher routing performance possibly get 2 devices one for Dude and a CCR for routing....

Re: set primary ip for interface

I've put multiple IP addresses on an interface. They will only go where there is a route. If you put 192.168.100.2/24 on eth1 and your ISP gives you 130.130.1.2/23 with gateway 130.130.1.1 and it's connected to eth1 then the route will determine what address provides the path to the destination.

IP, DNS, Dynamic Servers, doesn't separate the entries you get results like: 43.229.61.243.229.62.28.8.8.8 It would be nice to have a coma and space between entries.

Re: Mikrotik SNMP OID list

The latest oids are stats from ether 1 to 2
If I know what you meant.
For the ethernet port stats they are often described in a table like at the end of this page -

As an interim measure unslave port 10 and assign it an address, eg 192.168.90.1/24 .
Connect your laptop to this port with 192.168.90.2 and attempt your config changes. This connection should stay solid while you make the changes.
