Question about a good router for wifi

Im looking for a good router with wifi for b/g. Some of the routers are deaf on b/g as they are made to support N. Im looking for a good indoor router that can do a few shaping QOS rules and have firewall enabled. Mostly im looking for good signal quality on B/G. Thanks in advance.

So my suggestion is to ditch wds and route your clients, its a huge change but if you dont start now you will be in a position that you wont get out of easilly. WDS has more overhead which in turn causes your system to work harder and be less effeciant. I use to do wds but once i seen the performanc...

1.Id like to see the mac-address of the client show up in the logs / traffic report
2.Be able to clik that mac address and bind it to the specific user and or ip address
3.Have the rate limit option available to be specified when your create a credit and be bound to the user when they buy it.

this issue has been fixed you can use this option Example http://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/User_Manager/Limiting If a user must be allowed to use 2 hours of Internet access and he/she must use these 2 hours within one week, then the uptime-limit field must be set to 2h and the user must be assigned a c...

yes you can set the rate limit on the default profile for your hot-spot, and its checks the local hotspot first and then the um database, if you set it in the hotspot then anyone not haveing a rate set in um would be bound to that though

Im savy with the definitions for the rates a...

User-manager hotspot multiple logins workaround for some

OK i figured out the usermanger does have the capabilty to allow or not allow multiple logins. This only works if your running hotspot configuration. My default when you login it checks the hotspot local database first , (the user profile). All you have to do is create mulitple Profiles on your hot-...

id say the more things that you use on the routerboard as in services and or cards the more unstable either will be, so if you use the one that has more interfaces and you put more services on it then the one that is being used more could be a lil less stable as in cpu usage/ memory/ hdspace will go...

Ok then you need to add routes , either src-nat dst-nat for the network or use masqarading , look up hot-spot masqarading and it will show you how to do it, and yes you cant nat without either src-nat dst-nat or masq enabled , imo masq is way easier

OK so imo i belive you should setup dhcp server on the local and remote end and have a dhcp client on the remote end to grab the public ip from the main ap and then the dhcp server on the remote end can hand out local address 192.168.0.2-253 and such, make sure you have masqarading setup if you want...
